I've been buying from this chip shop since about 1970. Harry's family have sold on a few years ago but the now proprietor has kept the quality and the service right up there. It remains the ONLY fish & chip shop that I have ever been served with crinkle cut chips, which are not crisp and empty like french fries nor phlaccid and greasy like your standard chippy. I've been coming to Harry's for a long time now and perhaps hadn't appreciated just how fantastic they are until trying another fish and chip shop because Harry's is closed on a Monday and previously one in another town near my parents The fish is really superb quality, the batter always crispy and the special extra touch of the lemon wedge and homemade tartare sauce is really special, and also that the tartar sauce tastes fantastic, you won't get better anywhere else! In future I'd rather either drive the distance to Harry's or wait an extra day until they are open. You really won't find any better than this place. More...

Popped in here rather than going to my local as it was on my way home. It was quite busy, but behind the counter seemed very confused with wrong orders going out. ....this might of been down to a new member of staff!!!. My order was correct after waiting for 15minutes for fish fingers to be cooked. Cant say it was anything special, but likewise didnt have any complaints.....just run of the mill chip shop. Best Fish and chips I've had in ages and grandkids loved the nuggetts and sausage. The crinkly chips are great, my Mum used to always make crinkle cut chips. Being Scottish I had to try a deep fried Mars bar and it was really surprisingly good. Can't imagine what it did to my blood sugar!! We'll be back. More...
