I've known Donna for a number of years. She initially came to our home and took some family photos, not too long after our daughter was born. We then asked Donna to refresh these photos several times over the past 10 years, despite moving to the other side of the city. This tells all you need to know about the level of trust we developed in Donna's work, and her personally. We got married in 2019 and Donna was the only option for us. She takes such natural photos and felt far more like a guest rather than a 'supplier' for our big day. i am delighted with the photographs taken by Donna during our family Celebration at the Cube in Birmingham in September. Without intruding in any way, Donna captured stunning informal portraits of my family and our friends as well as more formal group photos. This was a Covid gathering, to celebrate the marriage of my youngest son and new daughter-in-law, who had married in Italy (at the third attempt). Donna has a lovely open approach and very easy to talk to, asking want the customer wants and what she can offer, talking about different styles and locations in the area that we could use.

I had received several responses to my enquiries for a photographer and I am so happy we went with Donna. She is fantastic at what she does, the photographs are amazing and we have had a difficult job choosing the best to go on the wall! Donna's style is very personable yet non-intrusive. She had met us at the venue previously so already knew where the best shots were and made us feel at ease. This allowed guests to carry on enjoying the wedding and made sure we were part of it all without having to disappear for hours to get that perfect wedding shot. Wow, we have been blown away by the amount of amazing photos taken by Donna at our recent location shoot. They do say never work with children or animals - Donna managed 5 little people, a dog and 6 un-photogenic big people and the results are magnificent. Not only did she capture family photos but also each of the kids characters in the photos. She has made our job of choosing which ones to put on the wall extremely difficult!! I think the secret to taking great photographs is lighting & having a friendly, relaxed rapport with the clients and being creative & getting the best possible image from the subject you are photographing
What do you love most about your job?
I love achieving fun, character photographs that really do make you think about the people on the other side of the camera, how full of life they are either on the ‘best day of their lives’ or on a family shoot interacting with each other.
What inspired you to start your own business?

Harrison-Smith Photography was founded around 10 years ago. I was prompted to start my own business after a tragic family loss, it made me realise life is too short not to follow your dreams! I love photography & seeing people happy on their photographs or just being themselves. Through my photography I aim to capture peoples personalities whether it be at a wedding or on a family shoot. It’s so wonderful to look back at memories & special people in our lives & I hope with my work I am in some small way contributing to that

Taking beautiful, fun wedding photographs is my passion. I love capturing the character shots of all the guests enjoying themselves and the intimate looks exchanged between the bride and groom. With my photographs I aim to create some truly once "in a life time" moments the you will treasure forever. I think I stand out from the crowd as I make people feel at ease & I photograph them in an unobtrusive way.
