What a great place for me as an adult beginner! The programme has really helped me develop my fundamentals and it is very helpful to have a structure provided for practising and setting goals. I would definitely suggest joining over doing private lessons, as they have a great community of people and there are plenty of social events, open mic nights and other great activities. The teaching staff are well versed across all music styles and guitar types which is helpful when choosing the type of music you want to learn how to play. One of the best decisions was to enrol my daughter @ guitar tuition east LondonThe team is excellent, my daughter improvement is massive in all aspects: performing, confidence, coordination. I have been at the school for around 14months now and I have no hesitation in recommending them whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player, I myself have been playing bass and guitar for over 30 years, playing hundreds of gigs and yet I have learned more in the last year that’s i have in the previous 30 years! Darryl and his team are friendly, warm and very professional, they tailor the program to your objectives within the group classes. I was sceptical about group lessons but it has been a revelation! There is a real sense of community learning together and having different abilities in the same class is actually really positive and did not hold me back despite being one of the more experienced players in the group as each lesson is layered to match the ability of each of the class members.If you really want to learn or improve on the guitar or bass I suggest you check them out and as long as you build on what they teach you with a disciplined practice regime you will 100% see improvements in your playing.Jon More...

I have always admired musicians as I believe the ability to play an instrument is a remarkable talent to have. Choosing to take guitar lessons is one of the best decisions I've made - I thoroughly enjoy my time at Guitar Tuition East London. The lessons are very lively and we are given freedom to choose and explore different music styles; I particularly enjoy jamming together in a group. I always pick up something new in each lesson and learning the different techniques gives me great motivation to discover more and build upon my skills.
Darryl, Dan and Barry are excellent teachers who provide great support and encouragement which boosts my confidence. I am also grateful for their patience when teaching as they ensure that everything explained is understood and they emphasise that no question asked is too basic. I thought I could teach myself, got pretty much nowhere and began to doubt my ability. Within four months of Darryl and Dan's guidance my ability and confidence has propelled me to even perform in front of an audience for the very first time. That is something I would not have believed if told four months ago. The structure of group over individual classes really works to accelerate confidence and makes learning the guitar much more enjoyable. I started guitar as a novice, I struggled at first but with Darryl's constant encouragement I I'm now able play a lot better than I ever imagined. Learning in a group setting has been incredibly useful as it has taught me to listen to others as well as myself. Brilliant tutor. I am not attending tuition by myself but I signed my daughter which is attending already 2 years. I must say from the beginning when she was completely blind about music and guitar and now my daughter make huge step ahead under Darryl's tuition. Very often I have a chance to take part in my daughters lesson and I can see really great connection between the tutor and pupils. The way how all activities have been organized is just amazing. I absolutely loved my lessons! Darryl is so patient and organised, he will always have the lessons planned and you will never have nothing to do. I always felt motivated to get better especially when I was asked what my goals were; this pushed me to be the best that I can. I rapidly began to see improvement in my guitar playing and soon I began to play more complex pieces. You always feel proud about what you have achieved after every lesson and Darryl always lets you know how you can improve even more. I've been coming to the Monday night group guitar tuition with Darryl now for 3 months. My guitar playing has improved immensely. I've gone from being stuck playing the few songs I knew for the past 10 years and failing to learn anything new, to now feeling like I could happily learn to play anything with the solid foundation of skills being laid down in my weekly lessons.The lessons are varied and dynamic, often with everyone learning different things at the same time and at different stages but then moments come together where we've all learned different parts to the same song and we all get to play together. That's really fun. I thoroughly enjoy the lessons and have found a new enthusiasm for practicing. I am setting goals that I can see I will accomplish and I can't wait to get on this months workshop where we'll be learning from, and then playing with a band.
