Having now seen and heard Roadrunner in action at two weddings, I can't emphasise strongly enough what an excellent band they are. Their range of popular music is huge and they even did a few ceilidh dance numbers - with James acting as caller as well as playing. All four of them are top class musicians - excellent singing and rhythm guitar from James, marvellous drumming, vocal harmonies and fiddle playing from Tom, stellar lead guitar from Fergus and brilliant bass playing underpinning the whole. Kimberley and I asked Roadrunner to perform at our wedding in July 2018. James managed the process perfectly, discussing all matters well in advance, including band line up, first dance and their extensive playlist of ceilidh and contemporary music. On the day, well, they provided the most impressive evening set! The dance floor was always packed and this is down to Roadrunner's engagement with their audience as well as their endless energy. I have seen many excellent wedding bands over the years, but Roadrunner are truly exceptional - a view shared by our guests! In addition to the wonderful set, James provided his services for our ceremony music. Cannot recommend the L'inviti Singers enough! They along with their wonderful Director of Music, David and Organist took us on a musical rollercoaster at my nieces's wedding. As soon as Zadok the Priest struck up everyone knew we were in for something special, everyone sang the hymns with gusto knowing the choir would cover the odd bad note and many cried at Panis Angelicus and Nella Fantasia they were so beautiful. The day was always going to be joyous but the wonderful music and choir just made it sublime and unforgettable for us all. How would you describe your ‘style’?
Infinite! Your style is our style in terms of the entertainment we can provide for you. Other than that, we are highly professional and pay attention to the smallest details, making sure that everything runs smoothly for our clients, musicians and the venue on the night
What do you love most about your job?
The variety is extraordinary. There's the joy of working with bridal couples choosing music for a happy day; the privilege of assisting bereaved families to prepare funerals for their loved ones; running events at beautiful venues all over the country; and sourcing whacky things like Beefeater costumes!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Our director is a professional singer and in 1990 a friend asked if he could put a choir together for their wedding. And the rest is history!
