Excellent communications and what was promised was delivered. Our guests were delighted by the taste and quality of the dishes and were very forthcoming with their praise (just what a host wants! )
Very clean and tidy operation with appetizing presentation and generous portions. A number of guests asked me for Gingernut's contact details for their own forthcoming functions. We were very pleased.

Went for the first time today. Had the steak sandwich which was first class and good value. My friend had the pulled pork Gingernut burger and said he found it very filling. Not bad for a couple of confirmed carnivores!
The cafe itself is tastefully furnished and had a real warm feel to it. I'll definitely be back, bringing friends and hopefully taking them up on the offer of private bookings of an evening.

Went today with my partner and 7 month old baby. Customer service was great. It's only small so as soon as we got there they rearranged the tables to fit the pram in and then got us a high chair. Food was delicious and although they had a large party of 11 turn up they coped with it well and still managed to deliver good service. Will visit again. More...

We had breakfast here after staying at travelodge round the corner. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was absolutely gorgeous. My husband had the cooked breakfast which he throughly enjoyed and I had poached egg on toast with hollandaise sauce, it was divine. Well worth paying that bit extra for the fantastic quality. Defintely recommend. More...

What a great find on our first visit to Lancaster
very impressed with the staff who are all friendly and helpful, the menu is vast but not overwhelming and it also has a great drinks choice.
me and my husband opted for a bottle of Peroni each and I had the lite bite Lancashire rare bit with a side of chips and hubby went for the Cumberland sausage on bubble and squeak with veg.
All the food was amazing and the mustard/ketchup came in little jam pots
try this place you wont be disappointed

I had a lovely breakfast this morning at gingernuts, I have a Bed Company in Lancaster, so I am very customer service based, I know gingernuts had just opened up, however the chef gave me a nice smile and the young man who works there was really friendly and helpful, the breakfast was well cooked and I know it comes from my butchers because while I was there my butcher delivered to them, nice to see a local business doing well, excellent from me well done

We arrived close to the end of afternoon shift with 2 kids and a baby. We'd been Looking for a greasy spoon really but it was late. Its a small place so we felt like we kind of caused a fuss.
Staff were helpful enough but took the pram with all our stuff for the baby out the back. We felt a bit like an inconvenience but its not really a family place its more Bistro.
Our baby cried a couple of times (very short) due to being bored and uncomfortable and we felt like this was annoying for the staff and other customers and with no pram we couldnt distract her with toys. There seemed to be an atmosphere but maybe that was just us. nodody wants a screaming baby about so it understandable it just felt a bit awkward.

We were looking for a cafe for dinner and it looked like one but its very much more upmarket and not really for kids although the kids menu was great.

It was 41 quid for 2 lot of beans on toast a jacket spud and a sandwich and cheese on toast (£5.50) expensive yes by barrow in furness standards but it was the best cheese on toast I've ever had all the meals were great.

Staff were friendlier when we were leaving.
I get it I've worked in restaurants

I'd go again but not with kids.

Thank you so much for amazing food!
It was a really great addition to the hen weekend. Prompt arrival, stress free set up, and amazing food ( and a bonus having the washing up completed for us).
I would highly recommend your services to others.
