Fiona gave me space and support talking about my thoughts, and allowed me to guide the sessions, making me feel comfortable and in control. She helped me understand myself and my thoughts with her calming and friendly approach. I really felt safe in sessions with her and have really been able to make a change in understanding of myself going forward. More...

From the get go, I felt relaxed speaking with Fiona, she has such a calming presence. Fiona gave me the space I needed to speak & was there if I needed guidance.
I’ve come to the end of my sessions now but I feel reassured knowing that I can reach out to Fiona if & when I need support.

Fiona is fantastic and has completely changed my life for the better. Thanks to her I was able to come to terms with some losses as well as completely change my perspective on life. She made me feel comfortable and trusted her right away. I was able to freely talk about whatever I needed to talk about without hesitation which was very important for me. She offered fantastic advice and an entirely new and positive world view for myself. Cannot thank her enough ! :) More...

I instantly felt comfortable talking with Fiona, as her gentle manor put me at ease. I always felt that Fiona was listening to what I said. She would recall things said in earlier sessions, weeks later, making everything I spoke about seem important and valid to her, and therefore me. Thank you Fiona. More...

I was feeling overwhelmed after a series of upsetting incidents occurring in my life and was looking for a safe space to talk and find a way forward.
I came across Fiona's profile online and was instantly drawn to the description of her practice and work ethic. To date, I have had 12 sessions with her.
Despite the traumatic subject matters often discussed between us, I have gained so much from our work together so far. Fiona has given me exactly what I need in terms of time, space and understanding in order to help me get perspective and begin the process of working through my grief.
It was clear to me from the outset Fiona is extremely professional and committed to her practice, but is also warm and open in character. I feel at ease when exploring my deepest thoughts and anxieties and have come a long way since I first started my sessions.
I would recommend her to anyone in need of a place to work through any difficulty life has presented them with.

I was very unsure of what to expect having never seen a counsellor before but Fiona put me at ease very quickly and I am certainly feeling the benefit of being able to work through things in a safe space.
What do you love most about your job?
Counselling in an incredibly rewarding profession where I am privileged to be allowed to accompany clients on their personal journey for however long they need my support. Working alongside clients and at their pace, I get to witness change and personal growth as they search for and find the answers that are right for them. No two days are the same - my work enables me to meet and support a diverse range of people of differing ages, gender, sexuality, race and ethnicity with a variety of issues.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After obtaining my counselling qualification, I combined working evenings as a volunteer counsellor for five years with a daytime position in an office. In 2017 I obtained a paid position on a part-time basis as a college counsellor which I continued to combine with my office role for a year before deciding to dedicate myself to the field of counselling on a full-time basis. I set up my private practice at the end of 2018 and now combine this in addition to my work as a college counsellor.
Why should our clients choose you?
I work to a humanistic modality which means that I see each client as a unique individual and believe in their potential to make the right decisions for themselves. I won’t offer my opinion or advice, or provide any solutions as I believe that having the space to talk to someone neutral can help clients to explore their options in order to better understand their problems and find the best solution that works for them.
I also use EMDR and Mindfulness grounding techniques to help clients learn how to self-soothe outside of the therapy room should they feel the need to.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Due to the current situation with Covid-19 I am not currently seeing any face-to-face clients and am only offering remote sessions. All sessions are priced at £36 and can be held either via Zoom, instant messaging or by telephone call. Payment is made by a secure one-time Zettle link which will be sent to you by SMS prior to your session.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am only working remotely which means you can have your sessions from the comfort of your home without having to come into contact with anyone from outside of your support bubble.
