Use this Pure Gym a lot. Good range of equipment and very clean! Avoid peak times because it does get very busy, like all gyms.

Great location for a gym, great staff, good amount of space and equipment, members are sound. My one gripe is the weights not going back where they belong/left on the floor. Not staffs fault as a popular gym like that is going to attract a few rouge weightlifers with no etiquette. More...

We came to Bristol for a weekend break and I usually come to the area maybe three or four times a year and always felt guilty about neglecting exercising because i didn't know there was a PureGym in the area. PureGym Bristol Central was a mere three-minute walk from my hotel at Travelodge Central and i liked that i didn't even need to bring much because it was that close to the hotel. We first came here this weekend and we did get a bit lost walking around the building but i think it was the Google Maps placement that made it look like it was opposite Pizza Express but it isn't. We came into the building and it was a standard capsule entry where you have to enter your pin to get access to the gym. You then need to take the lift up to either the 4th floor (the main section) or the 5th floor where the lockers and changing room are. I initially thought it was a bit of a confusing layout because it was a different style of building compared to the other gyms i have been to under the same PureGym franchise. We liked that the lockers here are bigger than the standard sizes so we could fit in a backpack instead of just being given space for a phone and maybe some change. The changing rooms here were bigger and i liked the showers, I didn't have a chance to use them because my hotel was literally around the corner but they looked high quality. The glass door was a little off-putting but it hid the private areas so i guess that's something. We used the treadmill first, this was an older style of treadmill than my local and it even had the connection points for an iPod. However, they were all on standby mode meaning it looked kike it wasn't working but you have to press the green "Go" for up to eight seconds before it reboots. I liked that there were multiple of the same machine meaning i could choose where i wanted to run but some of them were unusable due to some of them facing the bright white building that the sun was reflecting and i wonder if that was more suited for the clouder days perhaps. I had a good run and then i tried some of the weights, this is not down to the company but the customers themselves who would leave huge sports bags and jackets on some of the machines when they were not using them. This seemed to be accepted by the community and it really shouldn't be. Otherwise, it was a great gym and i am glad i visited, it is nice that i could exercise while being away from home and i like how it is open 24 7 meaning i can choose when i can exercise. More...

Great place. Lots of heavy stuff to lift and put down. Has a water fountain. There are cardio machines, which I tend to avoid.

The gym was nice as they have most of the equipments there. However, I do wish those who workout there can re-rack their weights after they finished their sets as it can get a bit messy around the free weight section. In addition, the bench press near the dumbbell section doesn’t line up properly when you lie down on the bench. More...

plenty of equipment but it's too hot in the gym, I don't like how the freeweights are unorganized, and the hygiene is questionable, but you get what you pay for

Very nice looking gym, although has issues with poorly organised dumbells and plates on the freeweight area. Also not a big fan of the translucent shower dividers without locks. Definitely a solid beginner - intermediate gym More...

A very well equipped gym (no pool or other wet area), with decent changing rooms and showers. This one in the Harbourside is less busy than the one in town too.

It is great gym for the price you are paying. But at the same time, you will realise what you are paying too. Hard to see management team, but you will constantly hear announcements. Clean enough and tidy enough. Great range of equipments. One thing I don't like about Pure gym is they ask you for a review and but if you give any negative comment, they will not publish it. More...
