Smith's moved us from Blackheath to Eltham at the end of March. We were downsizing from quite a large house in Blackheath and so had quite a lot of stuff. Two days before the actual move they started packing and took one load away the following day. We then had a second load on the day of the actual move and the whole process was completed the following day. Having always moved myself (and always promising never to do it again) we finally called in a professional company and were absolutely delighted with the result. The guys were polite, professional, very hard-working and also had a great sense of humour.Considering the amount of stress taken out of the day by using professionals I would say they were worth every penny.Highly recommended and will use again. I used F Smith and Son on 27/03/09 to move me from my 3 bed semi in Stoneleigh to Kingswood. When Richard came round to give me a quote i was shocked by his clean smart dress, not what i had seen in the other companies i had quoted for. He gave me a pack of information about how to pack boxes etc and later emailed me over the quote. The price was very good in comparison with the other companies i had to quote, there was one company who were cheaper, but there was no way my things would arruve at my new house with the other company, i saw more chance of seeing them being sold at a car boot sale. So F Smith and Sons had the job. I was a bit of a pain as i did not know what my move date was going to be until 2 days before we moved, but they were very helpful and flexed with me, providing me with all of the packing materials before hand as well. The white tape that they gave me was excellent, it did not leave any marks on my drawers when i taped them shut (unlike the brown stuff i couhgt at the newsagents which wrecked one of my drawers!). They turned up on the day bang on time with the most enormous lorry, we laughed when they arrived at the size of the truck but believe me it was full and very well packed. They made the whole moving experience fun even carying my toddlers ferrari car bed above their heads making car noises! The whole team were polite and courtious and didnt look like scruff bags. They dismantled the wardrobes and rebuilt them much more quickly than i had managed (and i had the instructions). The whole day was thoroughly enjoyable, they even moved the furniture around in the hsoue for me until i had decided where to put it all. I really could not praise them enough and would strongly recommend them to anybody. I did not use their packing service but i definately would in future, packing was a horrible long job and their quote for it semmed incredibly good value, wish i had done that now and gone to stay in a hotel for the weekend instead!
