Essex Dog Trainer's is based in Basildon and Chelmsford and covers the whole county. We offer dog training throughout Essex and the UK for all your dog training and behavioural issues.

We have just had a 1-1 training session with Alex and our rescue DDB. Dolly is extremely reactive around other dogs and this has gotten worse since we lost our other dog recently.
The training with Alex was money well spent. He correct our handling and improve our lead skills, as well as commands and praise.
By the end of our session Dolly was walking well alongside 2 other dogs, and was even happy and relaxed whilst sitting in their company - which was something she only ever did with our other dog and her companion of 7 years.
We still have work to do but cannot recommend Alex enough.

We have just adopted a 14 week old GSD. He has a lovely nature, good with dogs, cats motor bikes, children and adults.
However, he was starting to develop a few bad habits such as sitting down mid walk, refusing to walk and nipping our fingers and toes.
It was our first GSD and first dog in ten years. We called in Alex because we needed training and were keen to have a well mannered, obedient and happy dog.
Alex was great and delivered effective techniques and tips during a practical two hour session, which turned all of the above around.
Today we both joined the local dog walkers as happy and confident.
I cannot recommend Alex enough.

I am amazed at the difference in my dogs behaviour after just one session. They were constantly barking, jumping and pulling on the lead, but I am already getting control very quickly, and my dogs seem so much calmer. I highly recommend Alex!

Alex comes highly recommended from me, he came to our house spoke about what I wanted to achieve with our 4 year old Doberman which was getting him to walk without pulling and working on his recall, he took us out to where we usually walk and completely explained how why and when with the way he was getting juke to behave, I then done it myself and by the end of it juke was doing great and 3 days later he’s still doing great and seems a much happier dog for it already and I’m happy I’m not having my arm yanked off! Was at the point of despair with my rescue dog Maggie, had had previous trainers to no avail. When found Alex he pointed out the problems and was honest and direct with where I was going wrong, within 20minutes he had put in place the boundaries I needed to help Maggie and with a lot of work she is now a different dog. I have a cavapoo puppy and although I have been to puppy training with a previous dog and knew the commands, Ernie presented with behavioural traits that overwhelmed me and the children. I found Alex online and gave him a call. Not only did he spend ages on the phone to me he came down the next day and spent a lot of time with with all of us. He answered all my questions and gave me the confidence to tackle Erni's puppy behaviour in a structured way. Not only that he looked at Ernie outside, in the home, engaging the children and explaining everything he was doing from the view of Erni's dog psychology. I have two 18 month old miniature dachshunds from the same litter. I contacted Alex around 8 weeks ago because they were becoming a nightmare. They were always on high alert in the house, they were both extremely nervous and would work together to increase this, they barked constantly and would pull on the leads when you took them for a walk. I emailed Alex initially and told him about our issues. He responded within 10 minutes and I could tell he was the right person. We have been to two separate dog trainers but have been sent outside or ignored with no help. Alex explained the concept of litter mate syndrome and this was exactly my dogs. On the first visit Alex helped to implement some simple but very effective ways of dealing with the dogs. He gave us a few things to work on and came back after a month. I can honestly say we saw an improvement within days. Alex came back yesterday and confirmed that we were doing the right things and the turn around was amazing. I am so glad we found Alex. I know we wouldn't have got the same results from anyone else as we had tried previously. We would absolutely recommend Alex to anyone. I'm so grateful to Alex that he has shown us how to control the dogs and enjoy them. It is nice to know we have Alex on hand in the future. More...

After contacting a few different trainers i found through google i came across Alex after speaking to him on the phone i knew he was just the person i was looking for due to his knowledge on all the subjects i was asking about and his genuine understanding of my situation. I booked angel (my 14 month cockapoo) in for 4 weeks residential training with him and well... it was the best choice i ever made. since shes been back she has been a pleasure to live with shes like a changed dog. we used to have problems walking her on the lead around our local park with her pulling and wanting to play with anything that moved. now my 8 year old daughter can even walk her with no problems at all. also in the house she is much better behaved and has so much better manners. throughout her training i was kept updated with her progress and little videos and photos with also phone calls. when i went back to pick her up Alex was in no rush to just drop and go he actually spent a couple of hours showing me and helping me how to progress and carry on all the training he had put in. i cant recommend Alex enough. thank you More...
