I found out about Espeak via Instagram. I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish, however, after completing my Spanish GCSE almost 10 years ago, I haven’t done much to further my learning. .. With all the extra time lockdown has given us I decided there was no real excuse anymore! So far I’ve had 3 lessons with Shandon and they’ve been great. Shandon is a very patient teacher, he is kind and I don’t feel nervous about making mistakes with him. He is willing to answer all of my questions and cater to my learning style! I came across ESpeak on Instagram and booked in my first Spanish lesson straight away with Shandon. I’m so glad I did! From there, I knew I wanted to further my learning with ESpeak - the lessons are really well structured and the tips/tricks Shandon gives are super helpful. I'm as impressed with Shandon's patience as I am with his knowledge of Spanish and his ability with technology, which is an essential part of online learning. I'm from a conventional classroom background, and - ideally - would have preferred to have continued on that path; but in this newer world of lockdown, this is a good way to progress. Above all, he's encouraging. Who knows? Will i want to return to a draughty classroom when this is over, or perhaps continue via Skype? Tempting! More...

I'm a beginner level student and really enjoying my 1:1 lessons with Shandon. He is a very patient teacher and provides a comfortable learning environment for students. My two teenage children have been learning Spanish with Shandon at ESpeak for over a year now. While my children learn Spanish for different reasons, they both thoroughly enjoy their lessons. Each lesson is customised to their needs and learning style so that they can get the most out of their 60 minute tutorials. I feel like the lessons I’ve had with Shandon have been very helpful and I’ve learnt so much more than I would’ve learnt in school. The work he gives me to do in my spare time also help me revise what I’ve been taught in the tutor lessons as well as in school. What do you love most about your job?
Being able to create Spanish content all the time and helping Spanish students to really start enjoying learning the language and hopefully be inspired to learn it to the level which I have.
What inspired you to start your own business?
A love of the Spanish language from my 10 years of learning it, combined with a desire to pass my knowledge onto others and to facilitate other experienced Spanish learners to do the same, as seeing somebody who has done what you are thinking about doing can be so beneficial for any student
Why should our clients choose you?
We are a completely student-led company, meaning any content we put out and all of our lessons are based fully on the needs of our students. Having our lessons focused around speaking is also something that is not done and increases engagement and enjoyment from students. The fact that all of our tutors have all spent significant time in Spanish-speaking countries also means that they are much better placed to provide top-quality lessons
