Puppy socialisation classes feature a mixture of supervised off lead socialisation in our large, secure pen and introducing obedience via structured exercises. Early socialisation is essential to ensuring that your dog develops the ability to mix with dogs of other breeds and ages and can prevent problems in later life. Obedience is introduced by exercises for example, working on walking on the lead, the sit, the stand and coming back when called. We introduce the puppies to new experiences such as our agility equipment and hoopers equipment (Wed & Thurs); we get them going over poles on the ground, through the tunnels and over the contact equipment. There are lots of opportunities to ask questions about common problems such as toilet training and play biting. Puppies can start as soon as they have had their second vaccinations and the vet says they can go out and remain in puppy class until they are approximately 6 months old (depending on breed and maturity). We would encourage you to join in as soon as possible even if it is mid-course rather than wait until a new course starts – with puppies you won’t have missed anything that won’t be covered again, there are plenty of opportunities for questions and early socialisation is really essential in their development.
Adult obedience classes can be started from 6-9months old and cover all common problems in the pet dog such as walking to heel, coming when called, people manners and dog manners. They are a great way to get your dog to focus on you despite the distraction of the other dogs and owners and are a great hobby for you and your dog! Weekend classes feature fun agility using our full agility set of jumps, tunnels, tyre, long jump, contact equipment, weave poles and lots more. Agility is a great way to use the dogs brain as well as body and helps strengthen the partnership between dog and owner. The weekend class is approx 40min obedience and 20min agility. Weekday classes (except Thursday) feature an introduction to agility. For those wanting something to aim for we offer our own bronze, silver and gold standards.
In 2020 we introduced hoopers, a fun, fast, low impact sport to our Deal venue on Thursdays. Hoopers is similar to agility but involves ground level hoops instead of raised jumps and as such is suitable from puppies through to the senior dog and dogs where a medical condition precludes jumping. The aim of hoopers is distance handling so no running is involved and as such it is accessible to all handlers. Hoopers also builds a strong relationship with your dog.
A weekend 6 week course is £72 (one hour lessons). A 5 week weekday course is £60 (one hour lesson). We offer all new clients the opportunity to try one week for £12 as a way of test driving the training (you will be asked to pay this up front as a deposit to secure your space on the course). If you enjoy the lesson and it is what you are after you can return, sign up and pay for the remainder of the course (cash or bank transfer). If it is not what you are after then you are under no obligation to return. If you join mid-course we pro rata the course fee to cover weeks attended. All classes are held outdoors whatever the weather so waterproof clothing is essential!
If you would like to attend class please get in touch including your preferred location, your dogs name, age and breed. Please include brief details of any specific problems you are looking to work on. We will add you to the waiting list and get back to you to confirm class times and full joining instructions.
During lockdown Enve Canine Services are also offering an online introductory obedience course, Good Dog Level 1, suitable for any new puppies or dogs waiting to join us. We highly recommend you take a look. The easy to follow, daily videos are an excellent way to get started with loose lead walking, sit stay, leave, recall and lots more. It will give you a really strong foundation to start in person classes. It is suitable for the youngest puppies through to the oldest seniors. We will support you by email for queries and via an online Facebook community. More information is available below. Please see www.envecanineservices.co.uk/online-training-courses/ for more details.

Cannot recommend Enve too highly. I have used both their bespoke one to one training session and group obedience and agility for my 5 year old husky, Faelan, and puppy classes for my now 4 month old husky puppy Artek. The one to one training with the amazing handler Emma gave us the knowledge and confidence we were missing when it came to tackling Faelan's very negative responses to other dogs and general poor on lead behaviour. The subsequent group training has given us all the tools we needed to rectify the problems and Faelan is now much more comfortable around other dogs and a dream to walk, no pulling at all. He's learnt skills, such as off lead heel work, that I never even dreamt he could do. All this is down to Enve's cruelty free training methods which place all the responsibility on the owner, as it should be! The methods are easy to learn and once repeated over and over again any dog could learn them. The staff are always willing to give advice on everything from grooming to crate training. As a result of Faelan's classes we found out he actually really enjoys the company of other dogs, we had made him anxious! As soon as we gained the confidence to relax so did he- we rewarded all of his hard work with a baby brother, who is also enrolled with Enve in their puppy class. Artek's puppy classes have been so much fun, Suzy is great at keeping everything calm which is no easy feat when you have a pen full of puppies of various ages and sizes all clamouring for attention! Artek has come on so quickly thanks to Enve we're confident we can take him all the way and get him their very rigorous gold award in the future! Classes are affordable, and I think extremely reasonable considering all the extra advice and time they put towards your dogs. Agility is so much fun! The one to one sessions obviously cost more but they are so so worth it if you have a specific problem with your dog that you can't resolve on your own. If you're in Kent and you want to do the right thing and properly train your dog, go to Enve you will never regret it, we could not be more grateful for what they've done for our boys. More...
