On Holiday from Canada to see my parents and they took us to Emilio's Greek Restaurant. Wow! The atmosphere, the food and the Ouzo was just wow! Emilio is an amazing host and such a character. It was lovely to hear some of his stories.Started the meal with stuffed mushroom and let me tell you, mushrooms have never tasted so good.Main was the Kleftiko... The Lamb was cooked perfectly. Falling off the bone. The gravy that accompanied the Lamb was delicious and really tied everything together.Last was the best Lemon Cheesecake I've ever had.If you want more detail, then go try it for yourselves.For those of you that like Spirits, Emilio has you covered with a huge selection, some very special bottles of Crown Royal (Canadian Rye) this is the only place I've found this Rye outside of Canada and I've been all over the world. Simple... absolutely delicious fresh food. I had my childhood in Cyprus and the food was pretty authentic. Service was friendly and personalised (if I prewarn, next time they will get tahini in). I went with my father who can't eat dairy or wheat, my vegetarian brother, and my grandma who "doesn't like Greek food" We are not an easy family to feed, but we all had good choices and were all very happy with our food, and our drinks. As with all visits to Emilios the thing that we all remember is having a great time with each other and with the lovely people who talked us through our options and patiently let my parents practice the Greek they'd learned on holiday. The perfect balance of friendly without interferring. They made a special desert for my awkward father with laughter and pride.
