I see Ed in his life coaching capacity. I have been having sessions with him since September. I find Ed professional, approachable and very easy to talk to, all qualities that I have found very useful to make these sessions work. Ed is non judgmental and keeps your sessions confidential. I personally am finding having Ed as my life coach a very positive experience and I would highly recommend Ed. By no means is life coaching a replacement for talking therapies like counselling and CBT if you need it but I am finding working with Ed is helping me identify my blockages and issues and letting me figure out what I want to do to rectify them and get the life I want for me. Couldn’t recommend Ed more, sadly you can’t put more stars. Ed’s helped me in numerous ways from his PT sessions to his well being coaching! His 1 to 1 training is personalised to your own needs, with his eye for detail he helps you learn the form of movements and then builds you up before your succeeding in hitting targets. Really helped me with my mental health, being a well being coach, he has helped me look at the future with a positive vision in mind, he then guides you on the right path to be the best you can be! Reliable, honest and just generally a top trainer. Fitness and well being is defo the combination and Ed is the man to get you there! More...

I didn't have a clue how much my old beliefs were stopping me from committing to my fitness goals... In just a few sessions with Ed I don't know what's happened but I feel completely different. .. I've set a bigger goal than I ever thought possible and I'm moving towards it fast... This has had more of an impact on my results than anything I've tried, I'm already stronger, leaner and bigger than I've ever been. More...

I’ve been going to the gym on and off for the last 10 years and I’ve been training with Ed for the last 20 months. I am now the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been. We predominately do weight training and I’ve been so surprised as to how much weight I can now move. Ed is a total professional with a real passion for fitness. He makes sure that each exercise is carried out with the correct technique and will push you to limits you never thought you could go to. Thanks Ed for the pain, tears and giggles! More...

As someone who finds gyms intimidating and exercise a chore I’m amazed at the difference in just a few months of training with Ed. The energy and support that he brings to every session is amazing and he has always made me feel comfortable in a situation that is frankly my worst nightmare! Ed creates tough work outs that push me beyond what I thought was possible before I met him, but it’s always fun. Highly recommend Ed as a PT. More...

Ed is a brilliant personal trainer. This is my 4th month. He understands the needs of the individual and keeps me motivated, whist pushing me to the limits he knows in capable of. Such a lovely guy as well. Makes the training so much more pleasurable. Made me feel comfortable right from the start and still does. I certainly wouldn't want anyone else. Top man More...

After having back pain for almost 20 years and a slipped disc 5 years ago, imagine my joy at waking up the morning after my first PT with Ed to have no pain at all! Been training with him for 6 weeks now and feeling great. Not only is he totally sound as a human being, he's thinking about the bigger picture: fitness, motivation, well-being in the mind and the body. I haven't once questioned whether training with Ed was a good decision, the evidence is obvious to me. Neil M More...

Have been training with Ed for 5 months. Before our first session I explained the results I wanted. He tailor made the program specific to my goal. He encourages me every step of the way. The results I’ve had already are amazing & not what I expected in such a short amount of time. His knowledge & attitude to training is fantastic & so encouraging. I hate it if I have to miss a session & that’s coming from a non gym person! Seriously could not ever imagine not going to the gym with him. He’s an amazing coach & extremely good value for money...you can’t put a value on your health!! I feel amazing & love working out....thanks to Ed More...

Ed understands your needs, pushes you hard & keeps you motivated. I started out with scoliosis - Ed has certainly helped my muscle balance and improved my posture which in turn helped relieve strenuous pain I previously experienced in my lower back and hip area. I've seen vast improvements in my overall strength, stamina & definition - it's a great feeling when other people compliment. Would highly recommend Ed's PT services. More...

I have been training with Ed for three years and the difference it has made to my figure, stamina, general well being is amazing. I didn't think you could build muscle over the age of 50 but I have, and I am now leaner and more toned than I have ever been. I’m 56 years old, have always done some exercise but never indulged in weight training as I reckoned cardio work was the best way to stay fit. Three years of weight training with Ed has changed all that! My contemporaries were starting to show their age and I was determined not to follow suit. The aim was to increase my fitness and strength and tone muscles that were tending towards middle-aged flab. I’m very pleased with the results. The difference that is achieved by having a personal trainer watch EXACTLY what you’re doing and providing motivational guidance and advice throughout each workout has transformed my view of doing weights and the benefits that can ensue. I’m in far better shape nowadays and my vitality has improved no end. One further revelation has been the benefit that I’ve seen to my sciatica brought on by a herniated disc 10-15 years ago. Having tried all the usual suspects over the years (physiotherapists, osteopaths, pilates, etc) – all with little or no benefit – the carefully controlled exercises I have done under Ed’s guidance have strengthened my back significantly. In turn this has resulted in VERY rapid recovery when things have taken the occasional downturn which, thankfully, is a rare event these days. All round a very personable, professional guy who knows his stuff and makes training a pleasure. Almost! More...

Q&As

Whatever the goal - whether it's lose weight, build muscle, reduce back pain, improve mobility etc. - the process is always similar...

It involves learning and mastering large functional movements that involve multiple joints, that directly strengthen both the postural and aesthetic muscles.

I am a huge believer in metabolic resistance training - this is where you lift weights in a particular fashion that challenges both your muscles and cardiovascular system.

Anybody can hugely benefit from this type of training - as long as it is tailored to your particular level of ability.

The key to achieving fitness goals is as follows:

1) Enjoying the process - this involves enjoying your sessions, your meals and seeing physical progress
2) Staying motivated - dream up a BIG goal, if you really want it bad enough you'll make it happen!
3) Being consistent - sure, there's days you don't want to workout, or days you can't be bothered to eat right and that's okay - as long as you get back to the plan ASAP.

I love motivating people. I love seeing somebody start with no belief that they'll be able to make a change and guiding them through to seeing their body change in front of them. It's a transforming experience and I love it!

I always wanted to run my own business from when I was young. I love being able to work with who I want to, when I want to and most importantly in my own style.

I promise I will always do my best to put my 9 years of fitness experience to the best use with you, I will constantly strive to make the whole fitness journey enjoyable, exciting and successful!
