How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
You can build a garage or outbuilding on your property without planning permission as long as it’s of a reasonable size – no higher than 4 metres. Do bear in mind though that outbuildings cannot take up more than half of the land around the original property. There are as always exceptions

How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Measure the head height. The minimum height you need for a loft conversion is 2.2m. If it's 2.2m or more, your loft should be tall enough to convert.
