As soon as we met Matt we knew we had found a true craftsman. We wanted bespoke and we truly got bespoke! Matt designed wall units, bookcases, a desk and cupboards to fit the spaces we had in our uneven walled, quirky cottage. With meticulous attention to detail and a willingness to change the design without issue, Matt and Ian worked their magic to make our vision a reality. Matt is a true craftsman. He built and installed the most beautiful shelves in our dining room. My husband is a designer with very high standards and Matt met those standards and went beyond them. The shelves are the first thing people compliment us on when they enter our home and they always ask who the carpenter was. Matthew built a small bench seat in our hallway, to cover an unsightly water meter. He had good design ideas and knowledge, which meant that he was able to suggest modifications that improved the original design idea that we put forward. He drew out a detailed plan before starting work, which meant that we knew what to expect and were able to check that we were happy with the design. He was friendly and communicative throughout. The fitting went well, and we really appreciated the attention to detail which resulted in a high quality finish. The seat itself looks fantastic and, now that we have waxed it as per Matt's suggestion, it looks as though it always been there. Matt designed and built a large library wall in our sitting room. We had met with a few carpenters with no luck but immediately felt comfortable with Matt. He was very patient as we configured the plans and was understanding throughout the entire process. He reworked the plans multiple times without hesitation to meet our desired specs. Matt and his team were professional, meticulous and were happy to discuss adjustments even as they were installing! Matt has done a fantastic job building under stair storage for us. We had an idea as to what it was we would like and he took our ideas, improved on them and built us storage that we are delighted with. It is great to have found someone who doesn't just take a brief from a customer but takes time to think about how it might work and how it might be improved.
