What kind of accounting services do you provide?
I provide a full range of accounting services: From your standard services such as bookkeeping, VAT returns, CIS & payroll, self-assessment returns and year end accounting for small businesses and Ltd companies to specialist services such as property management accounting work and detailed cashflow work for retail and legal customers.
I can also offer wealth management advice through my partnering with a market leading wealth management business.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
A great accountant is someone you can rely on and totally trust. A great accountant will take time to understand your business and how it works, rather than treat you as just another client. For me, every client is different and has different needs. My initial aim when starting work for a client is to find out what they want. I will then deliver on my promises and exceed their expectactions.
A great accountant will see where costs can be reduced, where efficiencies can be made and how profits can be improved. They will give you accounting information you understand and give you sound advice based on their experience and knowledge which will help you make better decisions in the future.
What do you love most about your job?
I really enjoy helping clients who have not seen the real benefits of an experienced, qualfied accountant before, possibly relying on an unqualified bookkeeper to produce their accounts. It is great knowing that I can make a difference to how a company performs.
I also love a challenge. If you have been let down in the past by your previous accountant or they have left your accounts in a mess I am the man to sort the problems out!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was working as a Financial Controller in a printing business, often working 12+ hours days. I thought of an old boss of mine who had set up on his own - he was doing well. I gave him a call one weekend and we met for a chat. He gave me the final push I needed to set up DMF Accountancy Ltd. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I know business as I have worked for businesses before I set up on my own - I am not an accountant who has sat in an office processing tax returns all my career.
