What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Quickly working out your crowd and going for it. Speak to them, ask for requests, discover what they want.
And don't worry about kids chasing lights for the first ten minutes, it gives you a chance to talk to the parents. If people see you as friendly they'll warm to you
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Quirky. I play for the people, not for myself. I'll chat with people, interact over the mic but I don't go for the stereotypical mobile disco patter.
I play anything and everything as long as it fits in around the music preferences discussed before the event with the client.
What do you love most about your job?
I love entertaining people. There's nothing better than the feeling you get from making people happy.
I've done pubs and clubs and you don't get that instant response you get from a crowd at an event, you can tell immediately if you're not reading them right, and then the event becomes a battle to find the song that will get them up on the dancefloor and then the best thing becomes winning that battle.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started helping out DJing at a club I worked at and it built from there. Over 20 years later I'm still doing it now.

Everything I do is about the client, it's about giving them the best memories and the least stress.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I keep a spare, sanitised microphone for the client to use for speeches and use post its for requests, wiping the pen down after each use. I provide LFT results for tests done on the day of the event.
