What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Emotion - that's the foundation of any good photograph. Once you feel you have something to say then the composition and the style just come together.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I try to find out how they are feeling about their wedding and what their final expectations are. From that starting point I can ask the right questions to get the details of what we need to do. For example I always ask how important it is for the couple to spend as much time with friends and family as they can, and how much they enjoy being photographed. I never force a couple into spending longer than they want to having portraits taken as I want them to enjoy their day.
What do you love most about your job?
There are all sorts of aspects of my work that are great - I am my own boss and I get to do something creative that I have a real passion for. What I really discovered about wedding photography though was that I love helping to make people happy on what is such a special occasion for them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I do enjoy being in control of everything I'm doing and thrive on the responsibility of delivering a good service.
Why should our clients choose you?
You should always choose the photographer that you feel most comfortable with. Style, skills, price and personality all have a bearing on this. I'd never say that you must pick me over another photographer if you feel that their style or manner is more suited to you. You'll know if we're a good fit.
