Landscaping

Mike has done a wonderful job at redesigning my garden. He is a very organised and hard working professional who pays great attention to detail. He was totally trustworthy with a very friendly and easy going manner with the bonus of being very reasonably priced. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mike to anyone who is looking to give their very sad garden a new lease of life! More...

Mike was a very hard working pleasant man, no task too big. He transformed a jungle into a lovely garden. I would certainly employ him again.

After buying a house and working with a number of different professionals I can say hands down that Mike is the one to work with. He has amazing attention to detail and commits to every little job as if he were working in his own home.
He works very fast without having his work suffer in any way due to that. It took him 6 hours for a job that a previous handyman shyed away from saying that it would be several days of work and far too hard.
I haven't had any jobs so far that he wasn't up for. If anything I felt that his engineering spirit hasn't been challenged enough with the small jobs I gave him. I am looking forward to hiring him for more complex and more techie jobs in the future because I know he will impress.
On top of his professionalism he's very nice, honest, he's got a sunny disposition and is very fun to have around. I would give him 6 stars if that were possible.

Q&As

I enjoy developing an understanding of my clients requirements and creating practical solutions.

I also enjoy imparting my knowledge of systems design to my customers, to help them make an informed decision around investing in renewable and low-energy systems.

I started a gardening business when I was 15, but had been an entrepreneur since primary school - myself and a friend sold football stickers and finger skateboards made from melted plastic rulers (I know!) - This funded a team football strip for a charity match, so all the money went back into the community!

Following some mental health challenges in my 30s, I returned to landscaping - 'Crucible Systems' evolved from 'Crucible Designs'

It was after completing my masters in Systems Engineering that I returned my attention to low-power infrastructure, as I recognised a demand for clarity and transparency in the residential and small business market. Before my MRes, I'd been a field Engineer for Talk talk and technician at Clarkes HQ, Somerset.

I value the independence of being freelance, which translates as getting the best deal for my customers, and the satisfaction of work well done.

I have a comprehensive knowledge of residential energy systems and infrastructure, and will give my customers an unbiased opinion as to the best option for them. I support my customers throughout their carbon and cost-reduction journey.

I'm also a nice person to have around apparently!)

I can provide consultation services remotely, but some design work typically needs to be done in situ.

I'm a conscientious worker, and will completely respect your requirements in terms of PPE and additional precautions.
