I posted on bark and instantly my phone began ringing. I wasn’t really prepared to be bombarded like that - all of the people trying to contact me also texted and emailed. I was looking to consolidate debt into a remortgage and had been turned down by my existing lender so was understandably anxious about engaging with companies that may cost me money with no positive end result guaranteed.
Martin Dix from cornerstone finance sent me a text and an email, both were written in a way that made me think “he sounds like a good guy” - made me feel that he was genuinely looking to help me, I was a bit nervous about being judged on my debt and my credit score but the tone of his messages made me take a leap of faith and I called him that same day.
Martin turned out to be lovely , warm,friendly, funny and non judgemental and he guided me through all the information gathering, the income and expenditure detailing and reassured me that he would do his best to search the market for the very best available product to suit my needs.
To be honest whilst I did have confidence that Martin would indeed try to do his very best for me , I was nervous it would come to nothing.
The next day though Martin had found me a great deal with a great high street lender willing to offer a consolidation mortgage at a very low rate fixed for 5 years which is more that I could have ever hoped for.
I am almost at the point of completion 3 weeks from the start of this process and my life has changed completely, no more sleepless nights worrying about debt and losing my home, a life with so much more disposable income and the chance to start again financially ,for good this time.
All along the way Martin has kept me informed and been super quick to act as intermediary between me and the lender. I have literally only had to supply Martin with ID, payslips and bank statements. He has done everything else. Without Martin and his access to the open market I would not have been able to secure this deal and my future, I paid £495 in total, £195 at point of application and the rest I will pay upon completion. It has been worth every single penny and the cost of a life with secure finances to me is priceless.
