We've used Connell McFadden for over three years to look after our rental properties in Edinburgh and we continue to be very impressed with them. They are a "one stop shop" for us as they look after the lettings, any issues during the lettings and any upgrades we require between tenants. Whilst they are a smaller company they are very, very professional and we know and trust all the staff and they know us and, importantly, they know our properties so there is no going all round the office trying to find someone who might be able to help like you might find with some big agencies. Pretty decent company with good ethics. You'll usually be able to find better interest rates elsewhere, but at least using a credit union benefits the local community. Customer service lets them down, you will learn to hate there on-hold message, I don't think I've ever managed to call through without at least a 10 minute wait. Having said that, if the message is true then capital credit union have been experiencing exponential growth for the last several years and you can perhaps understand why they have not been able to keep up; have a listen, you'll see what I mean. The fees were extremely good and included the solicitor and surveyor (to do the Home Report), there were no unexpected additional charges, the professional photos were so much better than the last time we tried to sell the house with anther agent (after 10 months we took it off the market) and the customer service was brilliant. I have had Connell & McFadden handle my latest property investment. Lauren was fabulous is finding the correct buy to let mortgage for me. Seans knowledge of property was invaluable when choosing the property I wanted to buy and advising on costs for refurbishment. I then had the fun of renovating the flat and along with Sean and Steven from Connell & McFadden Property Development. Its this simple, I met Sean Mcfadden the OWNER whilst working for BT doing an install from there i explained I had a property i needed managed and thanks to his ability to strike up a rapport we talked what they do different giving them a unique service and at only a 10% fee I found this more than reasonable for Edinburgh letting agencies. From there he agreed to take on the challenge and within 3 DAYS had a tennant for me which I found outstanding.Lisa in the main office is always on the ball and a pleasure to deal with every time we speak, they respond to tennant problems quickly and efficiently and with a fantastic courteous manner at all times.I recently had a major leak ruin ceilings, floors, rooms and various other items that came from an upstairs pipe damage, dealing with loss adjusters can be hard and a little intrusive in my opinion but Sean and his team took the lead with me giving my authorisation and had the work approved, paid out and completed to the highest of standards including a complete repaint of the whole flat!!I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT IF YOUR LOOKING FOR RENTAL, MANAGEMENT, SALE OR BUYING OF A PROPERTY THAT YOU CALL THESE GUYS FIRST THEY ARE IN MY OPINION ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING AND OVERLOOKING THEM WHEN CHOOSING SUCH AN AGENCY FOR THESE SERVICES WOULD SIMPLY BE A LOSS TO YOURSELF.Thanks again so much to Lisa, Sean and Lauren for all the hard work they put in with efficiency and professionalism.Ross Sutherland (5 year customer) More...

Having been a member of the Capital Credit Union since it was literally one man and his dog up the Royal Mile I think ,(25-30 years) it has been the one secure financial base for many of my transactions. I use it as a back -up for my main bank account but as I have become older it has in many ways been the mainstay of my financial future. I cannot recommend this business enough. Lauren who runs the Financial side of things took care of everything from start to finish for our first ever mortgage and life cover. We got a fantastic rate considering we were first time buyers and have since continued to use Lauren due to her market knowledge and professionalism.We have also had work done by the Property Development side of the business. We were quoted a fantastic price and the quality of work carried out was amazing!We haven't needed to use their letting or estate agency services but I can assure you if we ever have any future need, we'll be going straight to Connell & McFadden!
