Lovely setting in a rustic barn conversion, three unique spaces to sit plus a courtyard. Staff all friendly and welcoming but bit slow clearing tables. Cafe atmosphere by day with more of foodie feel in the evening. Daytime menu a mix of all day breakfast, sandwich and salad menu and lunch dishes, maybe a bit extensive. Warm veggie lunch choice a bit limited and one of the two choices out of stock on my visit. Food excellent and chips superb. On site delli nice. More...

Food is so delicious!! 9 of us went for Welsh tapas and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was excellent and so friendly and welcoming, which is so important to the enjoyment of the experience for me, Thanks Sean, the head chef, and Lisa and Nia for making my 50th birthday celebration so nice.?

Myself and my husband are holidaying locally and after deciding to go to Ogmore beach had a recommendation from a local to try Cobbles out.
What can I say it was lovely, a beautiful setting and fab food. I opted for the rarebit and my husband had some side dishes (we were not starving).
As we enjoyed our first visit so much we decided to come back the following day for an early lunch and to explore the Castle. I had the hash stack which was delicious and he went with the small breakfast this time and it was a delight. The staff were all super friendly and I love that the whole place is doggy friendly!!
We will certainly come back to the area and will not hesitate to pay Cobbles another visit!

It is always very busy here so make sure you make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Plenty of parking and they accept card.
The food is freshly made and has been consistently delicious.
The afternoon tea in particular is really nice. The sandwiches are delicate but filling, the flavours of the cakes varied so you don’t get overwhelmed. The cupcakes are not the greatest but the cakes by the slice are very good.

Went here for a little family birthday celebration on a Wednesday evening. They've abandoned the Welsh Tapas and gone for an extended lunch menu and added a few "Specials". They are very flexible and were quite happy to swap chips for a salad to go with their Welsh Beef Lasagne. Massive BBQ Beef Ribs were on offer as a special and they were fantastic. Everyone in my party was delighted with their choices. A little bit slow from ordering to serving but it was well worth the wait. Excellent value for money as well. More...

Although they had lost our booking for afternoon tea this did not deter from the service we received. The sandwiches were very tasty, smoked salmon, ham & mustard, egg & cress, cheese & chutney together with freshly made little quiches. The cakes were to die for in fact we couldn't eat them all and took them home for later. Nothing was too much trouble we will definitely be back. There is also a deli on site where the afternoon tea is freshly prepared. More...

Came here for a party . Had a lovely main meal which was really nice ( from the vegan menu) I had lasagne which triple cooked chips and bread which was great but would have been nice if it had some greens or a salad to add some colour. They had ran out of vegan cakes which was a shame and the third visit in a row they had ran out ( I have had a slice in the past and it was divine) the main reason I have marked it down was because the room we were in was freezing I would suggest wrapping up warm. and we also found the live music too loud for us to hear each other speak. I will come back as the vegan menu is superb but will have a lot more layers on. More...

What a great little find!!! Driven past this little gem plenty of times without realising its a restaurant/deli. Food is outstanding and its a perfect place to stop after a nice walk on the beach or famous stepping stones. The deli is lush too with homemade cakes and savoury bites to take home. Good Welsh beer and cider selection too which was an added bonus. More...

Cobbles is a little gem of a place. Set in an old farmhouse, and serving really tasty food, it's now my go-to anytime I have people visiting who want to see the area - mainly so that I can have the excuse to visit again
Inside is pretty simplistic - don't expect too much comfort. But I think the food is good value for money, the atmosphere great and the little deli there is charming.
Things to note: it's a dog friendly place. They've also recently added proper toilets (instead of the outdoor loo)

They were busy so we had quite a long wait for food but it was worth it in the end. An inventive menu, based around some usual favourites: A little bit different. The staff were lovely too. It would have been 5 stars if not for the wait. (We were warned at the time of ordering and they did give free tea top ups because of the time taken.) More...

Stopped off for afternoon tea & cake after a walk near Ogmore Castle. So glad we did. I had the Victoria Sandwich & hubby had the Bounty. Huge slices, so fresh & soft. The jam on the VS was exquisite. Service friendly & quick. After tea we popped into their little store. Ended up walking away with 2 homemade meat pies & a bottle of seaweed gin. The pies were delicious, stuffed full of meat & sauce. The staff behind the counter were knowledgeable & helpful, but steer clear of the seaweed gin!! I understand they are busy at weekends, so book a table. We went late afternoon on a week day & it was perfect. Dog friendly too. More...

Tuck away in a courtyard you would never expect them to have such a great selection of cakes and food. Lovely coffee too. Staff were friendly and fab. Definitely popping back for some more peanut butter cake and next time gotta try some of that nice looking food off that menu. See you soon. More...

What’s your signature dish?
From the kitchen we are famous for our full Welsh breakfast. On the breakfast we use sausages and bacon and eggs from a local farmer, as well as make our own hash browns. The Deli is famed for its gorgeous smells escaping the oven luring customers in. Our in house baker is always cooking up a storm be it pies, faggots, cake or scones!
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We listen. We talk about the celebration, the numbers, the venue and tailor the package to suit individual requirements.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being at Cobbles. There is such an amazing homely feel there. The team are great and are like a big family and we are based in the most gorgeous 16th Century barns in an idyllic setting in the Vale of Glamorgan.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Both sets of Grandaparents had Tea-rooms whilst I was growing up, so I was brought up in this environment and I just loved it! Food is a passion of mine and I've always loved to cook and bake and always dreamed of opening up my own cafè.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are a family run, independent business. There are no hard or fast rules and we can be flexible to suit the customers tastes and requirements.
External Catering
We can cater for any event or party big or small.. we have a variety of set packages but also offer a build your own, so you can have a bit more freedom and flexibility
