The scaffolding installation was rearranged multiple times. Each time Cisco blamed the sub-contractor, like that somehow absolved them of responsibility as prime contractor! Same story for removal, given a date for removal (which was even initially too long) and then predictably this was changed on the day. Cisco admitted it was because they had failed to pay the sub contractors invoice, but still seemed to think that this was a 'sub contractor issue' and therefore they held no responsibility. Still have no access to the rear of the property due to scaffolding weeks later! More...

Very professional from start to finish. Cisco were the only firm to have a real person make the initial assessment, rather than Zoom or phone. This really helped me define what I wanted All the install was to time & date Good advice from Cisco to wait for a couple of months before making any adjustments & indeed the default settings were fine. With winter coming though I was keen to charge the battery on cheap rates & with help from Cisco & Solis, I managed to do this. So now, with only 8 panels, a 5kwh battery & an iBoost+, I hardly use any peak rate electricity at all, heat all or most of my hot water - which has cut my gas bill a lot - AND on sunny days feedback from about 4pm on at best rates. Works for me! More...

Equally the support office staff all played their part in making this a very easy experience. For us it was crucial that their experienced roofers identified (serious) defects in our recently ‘renewed roof’. This enabled us to properly repair the roof and retrieve several £1000s from the rogue other ‘roofer’. It meant inconvenience and revisits for the CISCO guys- but all ended well. Solar panel installation carried out by Cisco Homes 6th April 2023. As discussed with Cisco Sales team prior to purchase, connection to the grid generally takes 4-6 weeks in order that tariffs and feedback charges can be agreed with the customer. Not explained at purchase and following formal complaint procedure through our provider, SSEN has 65 days from date of installation in order to respond to the installation application. Cisco homes have to then prove to the supplier, SSEN in this case that it was installed correctly by an approved electrician before a G99 can be issued. As there were no records of the Cisco installer being approved, a witness testing procedure has to be conducted by SSEN. The earliest date that this has now been provisionally suggested is Sep/Oct, some 6/7 summer months from installation before we can begin to sort tariffs and claim any monies due for feeding the grid. We find it atrocious that such service and misinformation is not made apparent at the time of purchase. Someone somewhere is making a great deal out of their 'customers', it is all too easy to blame 3rd parties and not stand by your responsibilities. Ofgem thank you for your advice, incoming. More...

Waiting for a General Manager to call back about 2 missed appointments to fix a solar rig that only draws power and supplies the grid and does not charge their battery so that in the evenings we are having to pay that grid too. Cisco probably make money out of it the entire time that the fault remains unresolved. The first appointment was missed because their engineer called in sick. I was left a voicemail explaining that several days later. On the second appointment camera evidence shows that their electrician pressed the wrong doorbell which was not connected to any electric, leaving a message on it. He went back to his van and came back a couple of minutes later to ring the same doorbell that was not working. Cisco customer services claimed that they called me first and not my father but I only received voicemails recorded at 9.40 am and 10am. They had been calling my father again in America. Anyone with any common sense would know why there would be no answer due to the time difference. I did not receive a single text. If there is a network issue, text messages are a good alternative. I've had tradesmen or delivery drivers text me to let me know that they are on their way. The electrician had been sitting in his van for over an hour. I was lied to by their customer services whom claimed that they told their electrician to press both doorbells on the property and also knock. I was told that their customer services did everything that they could, they had photographic evidence and also vehicle tracker evidence to prove that their driver was there. I was told that we would have to pay for another call out to fix their fault. I have voice recordings where their customer services have lied to me. I have also managed to obtain video evidence of their electrician sitting in the van waiting for useless customer services to get back to him. I have managed to find his note, which was a polite one. I do not blame him for sitting in his van as I too was sat upstairs working. We were probably both misinformed by the Cisco customer services team. This is quite possibly the worst customer service experience that I have ever experienced. I'm still waiting for their General Manager to return my call and explain how things can be improved at Cisco, but also when they will resolve the electric fault to our solar installation, this has dragged on for months now. The agent told me he would cancel unless my wife was present. I told him my wife could not be present and to proceed with the survey. He told me he would cancel the survey unless I ensured my wife was present. I advised him she could not be present and to proceed and that I had full authority to agree any contract. He responded saying he was cancelling the survey as my wife was not present. This is my third review about this company (feel free to check my previous ones to see the ordeal we are going through with Cisco Homes), and yet again it is a 1 star. This company never ceases to amaze me if it comes to unreliability and the amount of lies a company can tell to their customers. This time a review is due about the company as our Solar PV system that was installed on 08/05/2022 is not working about 90% of the time since February this year (2023). We called them about a thousand times, sent them emails about our issue, but we only got lies, lies and more lies. In February after the initial report of the issue they didn't get back to us, so we had to phone them again a few days later, when they claimed the employee investigating our issue unfortunately was sick and noone took care of our complaint, but promised they will investigate now. A couple days later we called again, when we were promised a call back. Then they called to tell a guy name Lloyd will call us back to instruct us how to properly set up the inverter manually (!). Then nothing happened for a few days, when we called them again. Lloyd answered the phone - at first he seemingly did not even know we were expecting a call back from him, but then it turned out they did not even see my system on their side as remote assistance wasn't even set up during the installation. Then it took several calls for them to agree to send someone to set it up properly around the second half of March. The guy came, was shocked that the battery was incorrectly configured and the wiring of the generation meter was completely off, so he said he will fix these. But this did not resolve the issue, in fact it made things worse tripping-wise. We had to call them multiple times in the next few weeks about this issue, and all we got was empty promises that they are investigating my issue. About a month later we got to the point where they agreed to send out an employee again to check everything. They told us the guy will come and work on our system all day to re-examine the whole installation to the smallest wire, so he will be there in the morning and will stay all day. We were in all day and we called them at noon to ask where the electrician is, as he did not show up. They promised he will come soon. After 30 minutes he showed up only to be here for 10 minutes tops (did not check ANY wiring or anything) saying they will need to swap the circuit breaker, as they usually don't even install this type of circuit breaker where I need to step in and manually switch it back on in the first place, and they told me someone will be here to swap it in yet again 2 weeks. AND TODAY, a day before the guy was supposed to come to try to fix our issue they called us to tell that the electrician is in hospital, and it will be almost another 2 weeks before someone comes out to swap the switch. This was the point when we decided to take this further, as we had enough. We are at a point now where we can safely say that we were completely ripped off by this company, as we have a system for that we paid 13k but is not working for over 3 months now, yet it is just over a year old, so we are essentially losing money since February, and we lost all confidence that they will be able or are in fact willing to help us. Not to mention they were lying before the installation itself (installer's house got flooded, car broke down etc.), then scratched our render which they did not even want to acknowledge at first, then the side of our house in question got repainted 3 months ago (so they eventually agreed to fix this). They only really seemingly started to take care of our complaints once I started leaving 1 star reviews here on Trustpilot - then they were quick to call and agree to helping us and try to bribe me into changing the review to at least a 4 star (I did not, as they do not deserve it). In the past few days our issue got even worse if I might say, as the system is just simply not recharging the batteries anymore even if they are supposed to be online and there is no warning message, and the system even keeps tripping in the middle of the evening/night when there is no sunlight at all, so I am sure that swapping the circuit breaker will not solve anything. Also, we are still missing the certificate required to be eligible for export tariffs, and we kept mentioning this to them as well every time we called them throughout the year (mostly to have the render fixed), but they only seemingly realised that this certificate is still missing the last time we called them and mentioned to them it has been almost a year already. We find this is also unacceptable, as I am losing money of the feedback tariff as well (well, if our system was working properly). Our advice is: NEVER EMPLOY this company for anything. More...

The only negative point was that the installation had to take place over 2 days as the wrong clamps were issued. The installer explained that he could have used those clamps, but really the correct clamps should be used and I would rather have the job done properly even if it did take an extra day. However, this also meant that the electrician was not available again to commission the solar panels until the next week. The delay was unfortunate, but the end product was worth the wait. The system is either not set up properly or is faulty and we raised the issues with the customer services team within a few days of the installation. A month later we have not had a resolution to the issues. The UK based team aren't sure why the battery keeps charging from the grid instead of the solar panels. They passed us onto the manufacturer in China who also have not helped resolve the issue with the battery. As a result we need to pay for extra electricity as the battery is force charging from the grid. Because we have not had any certificates sent to us as of yet, we cannot sell any extra electricity back to the grid. Hence having this solar system is turning out to be expensive. More...

UPDATE based on Cisco's reply below: Yes, we did indeed call you today as well, and we got told that someone will contact us once you have an update. We've been promised this several times in the past weeks, so we decided to write the below review. The review appeared on this site, and within 10 minutes my husband was contacted with concrete details about an engineer coming out next Tuesday. So just to avoid confusion, you contacted us after we posted this review and after weeks of us calling you trying to get help with our issue. Happy to prove this with call logs as well. _______________________________________________ We had our solar panel system installed last May, after lots of empty promises and problems prior to the installation itself, and scratched render all over the side of the house afterwards. The latter is being fixed at the moment (it took 10 months to finally get them to agree to the painter's quote and for the painter to come), but this review is not about that. Our system that we paid a LOT of money for is not working for more than 3 weeks now, the batteries are completely offline. During these weeks my husband kept calling and contacting them only to get - again - empty promises about someone investigating this for us, someone coming out to check it, having difficulties on their side of the system, colleague taking care of our problem getting sick etc. So at this moment we can say we paid 13k for a system that is not working, customer support is basically non-existent, and unless it is sunny we have to pay for the electricity from the grid all day long despite having this installed with batteries to save money on the long run. Also, we still don't have the final certificate to be able to feed back into the grid - and it's been 10 months! They were very eager, interested and helpful only until we signed the contract back in last April, since then we have nothing good to say about this company. I don't know if it's really just us having ALL sorts of issues with them from the beginning, or the reviews are being corrected once the issues are fixed (we were also asked to do so), but now we would definitely steer clear of this company, as they don't care about customer support at all, they just prefer to take your money and leave you hanging. We are thinking about putting a complaint through the MCS website to get official help, as this company simply does not care. More...

Below is the letter I wrote over a month ago to the MD after solar panels were installed. The company has not deigned to answer! In Mr Stuart Umney Cisco Homes Unit 5, Estover Close, Plymouth, Devon PL6 7PL Dear Mr Umney I am writing to record how perturbed I am about the installation of a solar panel system on the flat roof of our bungalow. Before I explain what worried me, I must compliment the installers for their professionalism and empathy while they were here. No. blame falls on them for any of the adverse events detailed below. My concern was caused by the pre installation work explained by the salesman, which I expected, which didn’t occur. When my husband Mike and I first discussed the purchase of solar panels with Phil Slater the system, process and installation was explained and our many questions answered. We were led to understand that a survey would be required to ensure the roof was strong enough to take the weight of the system before the installation could be progressed. Once we signed up for the system we appreciated the regular updates from Tianna, explaining there was a delay in the delivery. Each time I explained we were waiting for a surveyor before it could be confirmed the roof was suitable for the installation of the solar panel system. Phil rang us to say there had been much discussion about a system for our bungalow and it had been agreed that we would have a better more modern system involving an aluminium frame into which the panels slotted. It would be more expensive thant the system quoted but there would be no change in the price to us. We would be the first customers to have this new superior system installed. So, having seen an aluminium frame system on a house down the road, we relaxed about not having had a survey done. The day came when the installation began and part way through I noticed that there was no aluminium frame being used. The installers were wonderful when I queried what was happening. They had noted for themselves that a survey should have been done and there was no report, so they understood my concerns. They rang the office to seek clarification and Scott Edwards rang me. He didn’t actually call me a liar but was quite forceful and unsympathetic. He was loud and talked over me. According to him there was never a plan to use the aluminium system, it would be trialled by the company before any customer had it installed (I had said we were to be the first customers to have it installed). He said other customers had waited longer than us to have the installation done and bluntly asked did I want the installation or not! The roofers were happy to install the system on the roof. And anyway, if there was a problem it would be Cisco Homes problem not mine. Whilst I accept that we were told Cisco Homes would take responsibility for any problems with the weight on the roof, it would have a major impact on us if a problem develops. I felt as if my concerns were swept aside, even those about the strength of the winds here. I felt boxed into a corner when told to allow the installation to continue or the team would be reallocated. As a result, I feel quite unsettled not just about the installation but also the integrity of Cisco Homes, something I thought should be brought to your attention. Kind regards Jayne Stone More...

We found Cisco very helpful throughout the whole process so when we were looking for a Company to install Solar Panels Cisco seemed the obvious choice. We were not disappointed. When Phil the surveyor came out he was very thorough and spent as much time as needed to answer questions about Solar Panels generally. There was no pressure and Phil said he would leave us to think about it. With all that’s going on with energy prices it was a no brainer and the next day we signed up to go ahead with the work. We were told it be about six weeks but within three weeks we had a date. The guys who came out to install the panels were brilliant and kept us informed with all they doing. We have been most impressed by the whole process involved in roof foam insulation- from ordering to lining to installation. The visit by your surveyor was extremely professional and informative. The men who carried out the 2-stage installation worked and behaved as well as we could possibly hope, leaving the place as tidy (even tidier) than when they arrived. Thank you to all concerned. Had a solar install completed from Cisco Homes last week and was amazed by the service! Everything from the first call to book the appointment to the final install was a 10/10 service. Would definitely recommend.

All I can say is what a great company my solar panels were done way quicker than I thought and exactly when and how they said it would be done. All the staff members that I spoke to from the person on the very first phone call to installation guys where so genuine and courteous. Very pleased with the outcome looking forward to seeing the future benefits🙂 More...

Got our solar panels installed early May after the initial contact was made and everything was agreed upon in April, so this was very quick and everything seemed okay. Scaffolding was put up quite almost immediately.
On the agreed installation day the installer came and realised some stuff (cables) were missing from the delivered items, so he went home (he came alone). Half a week later he came with another guy, but as it was raining he told us he will go home and try another day. We asked him if it was possible to install the batteries and the inverter in our garage at least, as the rain shouldn't be an issue there... he was not happy at all, but they installed everything in our garage.
Then they did not show up on the agreed date, so we tried contacting the company. Scott (the technical surveyor) told us he will sort it and they will come the next day.
The next day was warm and very sunny, no sign of rain or clouds even, so we were waiting for the installer... who did not show up at the agreed time again. Then we called him directly, only to be told his partner did not show up to work and quit his job, therefore he cannot do it alone, so he won't come. No apologies, nothing.
Again, we called Scott who told us he will sort it. 10 minutes later he called us and told us the panels will be installed the next day.
The next day finally at least 5-6 guys showed up and installed the panels. The cabling was not put to the exact place where we agreed on it will be hidden, but we can live with this. But about 2 weeks (!) later when the scaffolding was disassembled (we kept contacting them about it, as they seemed not to care about it and kept 'forgetting' we still had it) we noticed several marks on our render. We immediately contacted Scott about it, who told us the installer guy will come and check the scratches. Obviously, the guy did not show up. We kept contacting them, Scott kept telling us he will come, then he told us excused why he was unable to come. It's been close to 2 months now, and Scott still hasn't not shown up, so I am now extremely fed up. We tried contacting him yesterday to get an update about him coming, but got no answer.
We still haven't got all the paperwork for the panels - although I understand this might not be Cisco Homes' fault. But I cannot accept the fact that once they took our money, they kept lying to us about the installation dates and we were the ones who kept chasing them for everything as they did not even care to inform us about anything.
And now our 2 years old house's render has several scratches where the scaffolding was, and they don't seem to be willing to take responsibility for it at all - we would need to fork out a couple of hundred pounds to have it fixed from our own pocket, even if this was clearly caused by their carelessness. As one other reviewer wrote below, they were quick to take our money during each step of our 'journey', but are not at all willing to help us with our issue.
So if you want to have your system installed, but also want to have lots of headaches in the meantime, be sure to use Cisco Homes.

The 2 installers arrived as arranged to commence the installation of the Inverter & the battery in our garage. They arranged the installation of the Solar Panels in line with my work commitments. As they were working on the roof, they didn’t interfere with the Foam Engineers working inside the roof space. Both of the Solar System engineers were very professional & courteous to my wife & me throughout their time on site.
The 2 Foam installers working alongside the Solar team were also hard workers in such a limited work place, inside the loft.
A good job was done by both team, a credit to the Cisco Homes workforce.
