The first step in the design process is understanding the space and how it will be used. I will undertake an in-depth site survey in order to produce detailed floor plans with furniture arrangement options. It is really important to get this part right, as the way you use your space and the layout of furniture in it greatly affects your day-to-day life and wellbeing. A well laid-out space can increase efficiency, create intimacy and promote interaction or relaxation. Once the space plan is approved, we can move onto the design concept.

Based on your brief and the ideas discussed during the consultation, I will collate a series of mood boards, as well as sketches if necessary, showcasing the overall design aesthetic for your space. This will include inspiration imagery, suggestions for furniture, lighting and finishes as well as colour schemes. This allows you to get a feel for how the design will work in your space as well as confirm that I have fully understood your vision.

Once you are happy with the design concept, we move onto the developed design and detailing stage. This includes sample boards showing physical materials and finishes as well as specific furniture and lighting. A detailed Furniture, Finishes & Electrical schedule will also be produced at this stage showing an itemised list of all materials, lighting, ironmongery, sanitary ware and accessories.

This is where you see your design come to life! Depending on your project and budget, there are a variety of ways I can present you with a realistic vision of your space, from 2D elevations to 3D visuals and even 3D models to 'walk through' the interior. A fully coloured visual of your space showing materials, lighting and furniture allows you to really understand how your interior will look and feel.

I include a complete technical drawing service so that any bespoke joinery items can be designed and drawn up to your exact specifications. This includes all aspects of the design, and typically includes builders works plans, lighting plans, finishes plans, electrical and setting out plans as well as licensing plans for commercial projects. I can also include applications for local authority approval as part of my service.

As well as helping you to source all items in the design from a trusted range of furniture and material suppliers, I can also offer support during the construction phase of the process. This includes co-ordination and review of contractors costs and schedules and checking that the project is progressing as expected on site. With regular site meetings I can report back to you and answer any queries that arise regarding the design and build.

After the build is complete, I am also on hand to help you with those finishing touches. I can provide a full styling and dressing service so that you can move straight into an impeccably finished, and ready to enjoy, space. As well as this, I can help with sourcing beautiful and bespoke artwork to perfectly compliment your uniquely designed interior.
