There are no words to explain what an amazing teacher Charles is. My son was struggling with English Language and Literature, but with Charles' help, support and patience he has improved massively. My son was also always so happy with not only Charles's way of teaching, but also with his professionalism. My son too looked forward to each of his lessons with Charles. He is also really friendly and easy to communicate with, planning each of his lesson's really well, and after completing each lesson, he sends all the relevant notes and tasks which need to be completed. Furthermore, he always marks and assesses the work which has been completed for homework, giving excellent feedback and constructive criticism, picking up on each and every way in which a piece can be improved. After having lessons from Charles, my son has also felt quite confident during his English exams and confidently knew what to put on his exam paper. Although we will not be able find out my son's results until the end of August, my son believes he will achieve a good result and is grateful for Charles' help. First of all, in both literature and language, Charles helped massively improve my ability. In literature (which was my stronger one out the two) he helped provide me with alternate interpretations and broke down all texts to the minute details. The analysis he suggested for the quotes was perceptive but also methodical. He also suggested different ways to write these longer answer questions. In language on the other hand, he completely changed my approach to an unseen text. He started off sessions with games that involved things such as riddles in order to alter my approach to something I hadn't seen before. Furthermore, when it came to answering the questions, he broke the markscheme down so much that he made it simple to answer the questions. To begin with I was a bit curious as to why we were doing the things we were doing at the start of sessions but, by the end, it had had a massive impact and given me increased confidence and a huge boost going into my exam knowing how simple I could make each question just by asking myself different questions when braking down an unseen extract. What do you love most about your job?
Throughout my life I have worked with students in one way or the other. I have the ability to walk in their shoes and understand their problems and their issues. Most of all, I have a passion for English and the beauty and magic that words can create. Why not share that passion!
What inspired you to start your own business?
A simple answer: I have a passion for English and I love sharing it with others.
Why should our clients choose you?
My vast experience as an English teacher, which includes management of English faculties, is priceless.
I offer a 'complete package' which includes full one-hour lessons, resources used for each lesson, worksheets, additional notes and model answers on each topic covered.
I also set homework tasks and provide detailed feedback for improvement.
Above all, I set high standards but at the same time try and make every lesson an enjoyable experience.

I only provide online lessons. I use the ZOOM platform as well as GOOGLE MEET and GOOGLE HANGOUT. to present my lessons.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Not applicable as I do not travel to students' homes.
English Language and English Literature tuition
I have taught English Language/Literature in 3 different continents in state, grammar and private schools and have held the positions of head of a large English faculty in a high performing school in London, been a Lead Practitioner in English, and an Assistant Headteacher in Teaching and Learning. Importantly, I am also an examiner for English with the largest exam board in the United Kingdom.
Crucially, I don’t compromise my teaching and I set academically high standards – always just beyond the ability of my student in order to challenge and stretch. But I also believe that learning should be fun and enjoyable. I therefore don’t intend presenting boring lecture type lessons but always try and make my lessons interactive, exciting and fun. I will tailor any tuition to my student’s specific needs. I am happy to set homework and mark any work that is completed with detailed feedback for improvement.
Importantly, many of my sessions are backed up with free model answers, additional worksheets, resources and strategies to further embed and reinforce the online learning that has taken place.
