I have worked with Emile on a number of projects over the years and I have to say he is a complete professional. Passionate about giving the best to each client he goes above and beyond. Not only designing but complete project management, each project being delivered on time and to budget. I would thoroughly endorse him and very happy to recommend him. More...

Mr Azan was very professional. He listened to my requirements and took on board my tastes, but then using his obvious wealth of knowledge made suggestions for the projects that would never have occurred to me. The final result was way beyond what I would have achieved alone. He also is aware of the whole design market and not just the top end suppliers which many of his clients obviously use, but as I was on a limited fixed budget, he achieved a fantastic finish using high street stores. I was impressed that he could see, in his mind, what the finish project would look like and I am glad I placed my trust in him.
Overall a very positive experience

I worked with Chameleon Designs on a scheme for my old house for my front room. I wanted to make it cosy and stylish.
Emile came up with some fantastic drawings after he had taken my brief.
I ended up moving shortly afterward so didn't need to make any changes but the drawings inspired me to make some bold decisions in my new home.

Emile listened carefully to our requirements and designed our interiors to be functional, hard-working spaces as well as beautiful ones. It was helpful to be given a full break-down of items, labour and cost, and we were grateful to Emile for sourcing a few, cheaper alternatives where requested. He kept our budget in mind throughout the process and made sensible suggestions as to where to save and where to spend. We did not ask Emile for many changes to his original proposal but, where we did, Emile was accommodating, thoughtful and helpful. Emile then arranged for the project to be implemented, which is the best money we have ever spent. His contractors were second to none - experienced, talented, hard-working, tidy and polite. Emile's suppliers were also all excellent, and Emile liaised directly with all of them to take delivery of the furniture, paint, wallpaper, etc at the right stages of the project. Where problems were encountered (and I would stress there were few, and none of them were within Emile's control), Emile sorted them out calmly and efficiently. We cannot rate Emile highly enough. Q&As

Why use an Interior Designer?

As an interior designer & colour consultant, I often meet people who have design questions and are looking for someone to help them resolve issues within their home or work place but they don’t necessarily think that they need to, or want to, involve a design professional. As we are all doing different jobs and have different expertise, it makes sense that we can’t do or know it all. Generally, we wouldn’t hesitate to ask advice from a pharmacist, a plumber or electrician, or to engage a personal trainer to get fit, so then why is it so hard to engage the services of a design professional?

Well, for one, it is an extremely private area of our lives that we are asking someone to enter into. To invite someone into your home requires a certain amount of trust & confidence. Also, the perception is that anything to do with design or home renovations immediately means a lot of money. Of course, money will be required but how much is entirely down to you, the client, and your individual needs.

services of an interior designer
Professional Interior Design
Here are some of the reasons why people may feel nervous about utilising the services of an interior designer or think that it is a waste of money…

Too expensive
Too invasive
They will force a design I don’t want upon me
They will make my home not my own
It’s all about up-selling
They will take over and run the project
It’s just a matter of shopping, therefore, why should I pay someone to do this for me?
To reassure you, a good designer will listen to you and your requirements and will tailor-make their service to meet your particular needs. As the client, it is up to you to set the parameters. A good design professional will be there to follow your lead and will offer their expertise to help resolve your personal situation. This should prevent any negatives being experienced.

Why use and Interior Designer and Hiring an Interior Design Professional

Some of the benefits:

Utilising the expertise of a designer can help you save time & money, especially if they are engaged at the start of the project.
They can help by doing the running around, sourcing & organising.
They can help you really understand what can be achieved in your particular space.
They can help you work out your likes & dislikes & to find common ground when several people are involved.
They can guide you in the management of the project without taking over.
They can take on the project & manage it for you completely, if you feel you need that support.
They have expertise & experience that they can share to help prevent mistakes being made at the start of a project.
They can bring an element of creativity and inspiration to your project that you, your architect or builder might not have thought of.
They can help you make that difficult choice & commit to a decision.
Remember, if it were easy, then everyone would be doing it for themselves. Choosing between products, pulling together an interior decor scheme that flows, spending your hard earned savings and trying to please others can be overwhelming. Having an objective professional in your corner can help keep you on track & breathe!
