I have been a therapist for 21 years.
My passion for Hypnotherapy grew as a result of experiencing hypnosis for myself which helped me to make positive changes in my own thinking and behaviour. I found that hypnotherapy allowed me to feel so much happier and confident in myself and it helped me to focus on the positives and leave behind the negatives.

After a series of traumatic events in my life I was encouraged to speak with a clinical hypnotherapist as the impact on my health and well being had become overwhelming.
Catherine s warmth and calm persona immediately made me feel safe and supported .
Over the course of a few sessions , Catherine encouraged me to explore my thoughts and feelings and with her professionalism and expertise I was able to rationalise my experience s and was then able to reframe them more positively.
I had been feeling lost in amongst all the unplanned responsibilities I had gained for others at a point in my life that I had been looking forward to having less responsibilities and focusing more on myself
Nothing has essentially but with Catherine’s help I have been able to regain a vision of “Me” and what I want for my future . I feel more able to make more positive decisions for myself now and have regained my strength and power and sense of identity

I've had a number of hypnotherapy sessions over the last 18 months with Catherine and I have more booked in coming months. She has helped me with two main things. One being some significant anxiety I had and the other being weightless. I did my anxiety hypnotherapy with her and this helped me so much in being able to manage day to day life better. I then did the gastric band hypnotherapy weight loss course with her and the results were incredible losing 16 lbs in just a couple of months and having many good habits remaining afterwards to aid in further weightless. Catherine has a particular demeanour which puts you at ease. I found I was able to relax and express my fears and anxieties and engage with Catherine's calm and empathetic manner. Our own life events can generate happiness for us along the way but also life can be full of many challenges. I have found that my own life experiences have given me the wisdom and understanding to empathise with clients on a level where they feel they can easily share their problems with me in a safe and relaxed environment. Please be assured that privacy and confidentiality are of the utmost importance to me. I will always handle sensitive topics with care, sensitivity and empathy. I trained with Inner Visions School of Clinical Hypnosis to gain my qualification in hypnotherapy & psychotherapy and I’m registered on the General Hypnotherapy Register; the largest professional register of Hypnotherapists in the UK. I am also registered with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) to ensure peace of mind and safety for clients and therapists.

Most of us are becoming more and more familiar with meeting people online via various platforms. The good news is that online hypnotherapy sessions do not necessarily rely on having the therapist in the room with you.

So online hypnotherapy sessions can work exactly the same as face-to-face appointments, and you can be certain it is just as effective in both scenarios, allowing you to access any support you may need in the comfort of your own home. If you choose to book an online appointment.

Sessions can be done through online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. I simply email you a unique link through for each session which is secure and safe and you will be the only person who has access to it. Please don’t let the Covid restrictions stop you getting the support you need. In order to be able to engage in on-line hypnotherapy you should have:


A PC, laptop, tablet or a device with a camera and speakers and microphone

You will need a reliable internet connection


Headphones if possible

A comfortable quiet room where you will not be disturbed

Zoom or Skype (zoom does not have to be loaded if you don’t want to, I will send you a link which when you click it will load zoom in a web window)

I abide by the Covid criteria which I update according to Government guidelines.

We actually go in and out of hypnosis on a daily basis without necessarily realising it. You can go into a light hypnotic state while watching tv, waking or falling asleep or driving a car. Have you ever watched TV and not really remembered what you have been watching or maybe driven your car and wondered how you got from A to B? This is because you were most likely in a hypnotic state which happens when your brain waves change naturally leading you into hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis through guided relaxation, visualisation, intense concentration, and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness. While in this state, the subconscious mind can act on any changes that you want to make around certain issues in your life.

Our mind is made up of the conscious and subconscious. The subconscious part of the mind is responsible for memories and learned associations which can create positive and negative behaviours. Sometimes these behaviours are no longer valuable to us but the subconscious doesn’t realise that, so we need a way of accessing the subconscious so we can remove them or change them in a positive way.

Hypnotherapy therefore encourages a change of perspective, it helps you “see” your difficulties in a different (less negative) light and makes them less significant or removes them completely.
