My interest in photography began at the early age of 7 when my father gave me an SLR camera. After mastering how to hold such a large object in small hands, I rapidly progressed on to directing my father to smash eggs and lightbulbs in holders whilst trying to capture multiple images of said destruction! Black and white processing soon followed, giving me my first insight into image manipulation.

Having worked as a lighting designer and scenic painter in theatre, I became aware of how light and shade, colour and contrast could influence the emotions of those viewing images, scenes and paintings. Over time, these became qualities that inspired me and guided my photography, leading me to investigate all seven continents in search of light, dark and all the shades in between!

I work in geoscience, but maintain my love of photography. I am primarily a landscape photographer, but now regularly take photographs for a local architects firm. I have also taken photographs at four weddings, although this is not my main area. I have sold my work at the Royal Highland Show and during the Fringe Street Festival.
