We had Darren come to our house and do our catering for a party of 86 people at our bonfire & fireworks party. It made the night very easy and relaxed for the two of us allowing us to socialise with our guests, as we did nothing including clearing up and Darren and Lucille took care of everything. We started with Hot Dogs while outside cooked on the barbecue, excellent sausages, served with onions, crispy onions. and other bits. Then had a chilli inside served with rice, garlic bread and roast potatoes. He did Veggie equivalents as well - All very good, lots of great comments from our guests, a great evening. 5 stars Darren was booked as a surprise valentine meal by my boyfriend and the whole experience was incredible. We had the 8 course tasting menu which included all of our favourite foods as asked by Darren. Each course was beautifully presented and got better and better, we had a huge variety of food and lots of different combinations we had never tried before, each course was delicious :-) Darren was so efficient and even set up the dining table beautifully, he was extremely tidy and well organised and made the evening perfect. We hired Darren to cook an 8 course menu for my husband and I at our home. The food was exquisite, as good as we've eaten at some highly rated restaurants, if not better, with the benefit of a menu completely tailored to our preferences. He arrived 2 hours before we wanted to sit down, and we were eating his delicious food for 2 hours. He brought absolutely everything with him, and when he left, you'd never have known he's been here. We had Darren and his team provide food for our 85 guests (including 6 vegetarians, 2 no red meat eaters, 2 Gluten/ Wheat free and two nut intolerant people) on Bonfire night (3rd Nov 2018). Darren did a menu like a tasting menu of street food, 8 different courses, including mini cheese burgers, fish & chips, Belly Pork. It was fantastic, his team who helped him cook it and served it were all brilliant. My guests all thought it was great and had a good night. Chef Darren was outstanding!!I hired Darren to come into the house I had rented for my wedding venue, he cooked a 3 course meal for 11 of us, the food was amazing and to a very high standard. So imagine...it's your birthday or other special occasion. You fancy having a great meal with family and friends. You could choose to visit one of the excellent local restaurants and eat/drink from their selection. Or... You could call Darren, tell him what type of food you like, how many courses you would prefer, have him design a fine dining menu with you, turn up at your house, prepare and cook everything from fresh, serve it at your table (with some support from his helper), drink your own wine served at the table (no corkage charge), have everything washed, cleaned and tidied away while you and your guests wind down for the evening. What’s your signature dish?
‘To me the perfect plate of food is as impressive visually as its tastes with a perfect balance of colours, textures and flavours.’
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
I usually ask for 10 ingredients, particular items or dishes you would like to be included. Your menu is developed around your likes, dislikes and allergies. Together we'll then design you an original bespoke menu.
Whatever the occasion, I will make it just right for you. What’s more, I’ll leave your kitchen clean and tidy.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am the Chef Director of ‘Darren Rogan Chef Solutions’. Having started training aged 15 I immediately fell in love with the industry. Over the years I’ve developed my own eclectic style of cooking. I enjoy pushing boundaries with my work, using modern techniques and new and unusual flavour combinations to create food that’s exciting and original.
To me the perfect plate of food is as impressive visually as its tastes with a perfect balance of colours, textures and flavours. I like to research different ingredients, cultures and modern food trends to create innovative and quirky new dishes. Using fresh, local, seasonal produce wherever possible is really important to me, as I believe it captures the time of year and enhances the flavour of the dish.
I am a passionate chef with a good attention for detail and a keen eye for presentation and take pride in improving peoples dining experience. I want to share my skills and knowledge with others.
