Great team to work with, I have worked with them for photo and video work so I have seen the services from a different perspective, like a fly on the wall and you can't beat the passion Pete and Brydie have and how much they push people to get the results they are after. Pete is very knowledgeable in rehabilitation. My son is currently recovering from an ACL operation. Pete is the driving force behind my sons rehab, which a surgeon at derriford hospital has said she hasn’t seen such a good recovery in years, which is largely down to Pete and my sons determination. Pete has been working with our son Dan as part of the IFA Academy and Plympton AFC for over a year now. He is currently working 1-1 with Dan following his recent ACL reconstruction and has a lot of experience in rehabilitating sportsmen back to full fitness. The support ans encouragement he has given Dan has inspired him to keep focused on the final goal of getting back onto a football pitch for next season. Having suffered a major ankle break, and having surgery, I found myself having to start my fitness journey all over again. I wanted to improve my ankle strength and aid recovery,but most of all, I wanted to get back to playing rugby ASAP! With the help of Pete this dream became a reality. Through a structured programme and great expert advice and coaching, I was back playing rugby 4 months early and have enjoyed numerous games this season already! I have found my strength and power come on ten fold! I’m currently the fittest I have ever been! Still on my journey and will be making sure I stick to the advice given and hard work mentality! I’m on course for my 200kg deadlift, squatting 130 comfortably and discovering the benefits of Olympic bar work. If you asked me 10 months ago did I think this possible, I would have laughed! It isn’t just the physical strength Pete’s helped with, mentally i am stronger and much more confident in myself. After a very long injury absence, for which I received expert treatment for, I came to Pete for the next step of my rehabilitation. After 10 weeks of intense, structured programming, I have seen brilliant improvements in my power and speed which has, ultimately, actually improved me in these areas than before my injury. Pete’s sessions are targeted, and with clear goals and a pathway set out, it is easy to see your progress with each session. Pete has worked closely with our Level 3 Sport Btec students this academic year across a host of different practical units. Pete always demonstrates a great subject knowledge as well as having an infectious attitude towards fitness and health. Pete has delivered practical sessions with a strong emphasis on the theory we have been studying in the classroom and has pitched the lessons perfectly for the learners we have and the level of course being studied. Hey guys,
I would really recommend using Pete for any PT related services. A month ago i came to Pete after knowing him for many years. He reviewed my diet and asked how often and when i wanted to exercise and gave me a program to suit my goals which was for weight loss. A month later i have now lost 11.2 lbs thanks to his help. He was checking up on me a few times a week to offer help and advice along the way. More time to go but the future is looking good. 5 star for sure. More...

I joined Elite to lose weight, get fit and get stronger. Well all I can say is I have loved every single session Pete has put me through! Honestly thought I would never need a PT and that I could just go gym, work hard and watch my diet and everything would be sweet! Truth is after just my first PT session with Pete I soon realised that i was very mistaken! His knowledge and understanding of the body and the “do’s” and “dont’s” along with different techniques helped me massive! Very good personal trainer, I have 2 sessions a week and not only am I losing body fat and getting a lot fitter than I was but I am lifting weights I thought I would never be able to lift! I've been a PT client of Pete Bruce since November 2014, when I started I could manage 6 girlie press ups off my knees and generally needed pointing in the right direction, I have one PT a month and this sets up my programme for the forthcoming month and I can confirm, after 6 months my fitness levels are the best they've been for years! Press ups now come easy and my strength has increased immensely, I'm doing cardio sessions I could only have imagined before and keeping up with lads half my age, I won't lie! I question some methods all the time, but he must be doing something right, because I'm improving all the time.. More...

I'm currently being trained by Pete Bruce at elite gym, the gym is very well equipped and Pete's training is super effective if you want to see results fast, he is welcoming of anybody with any body type and he will work with you to produce them results.

I'll be honest, when Pete asked if I wanted to come and train at his gym I was very reluctant. I didn't think a strength and conditioning gym would really be for me. My previous experiences of gyms has always been of the commercial (and impersonal) kind, where I've just gone through the usual 'treadmill, bike, cross trainer' circuit. Boring and repetitive but I knew what I was doing. Of course, I wanted to try other things but I didn't feel comfortable doing so, nor did I ever really find the staff particularly approachable to ask for their help. This is where Elite is different - I know how much Pete wants to help people to learn; helping them with technique, improving their fitness and ultimately helping people to achieve their goals. This is what swayed my decision; to push my doubts and nervousness aside and to give it a go, and I am so glad I did!

Today was my my third time and I LOVED it! Each session has been different and I have already tried so many news things that I never thought I would be able to or that I would be too embarrassed to try. Deadlifts, weighted squats, farmer's carry, hanging leg raises, etc. During the session Pete is patient; walking and talking through everything so as to ensure understanding, as well as being encouraging and motivating - pushing you to your full potential. There is also a really great atmosphere in the gym and I never once felt uncomfortable being in there. I left this afternoon with aching arms and legs but, more importantly, I left with a thirst to want to do it all again and a desire to want to get better.

If you feel how I did initially, what I would say is just give it a go. Get in touch with Pete about popping down to take a look around and to get a free day pass to try it out for yourself.
Pete also offers personal training for groups. So why not grab a friend (or two!) and get training. Not only does it help keep the cost down but you'll also motivate one another and will be more likely to stick at it.

After knowing Pete for a number of years I was very excited to hear he was joking the gym that I was training at (Elite S&C). Pete has been coaching/training/mentoring me for around 6 weeks now and I can honestly credit my mental and physical gains to him!
