Bowburn Hall Hotel

Could not fault the place one bit. I booked on booking.com the day before for £48, normally stay in luxury hotels but this was work who weren’t paying so just needed a bed for the night ||The welcome was excellent, the bar and restaurant quiet, but the team still chatty and attentive. ||I was upgraded and had a stunning room with a copper roll top bath ... yes for £48 ! Could not believe it. ||Didn’t have breakfast but the Duty Manager who checked me out was delightful, chatty and asked how my stay was and wished me a good journey.||I could not fault it, a lot of hotels could learn a lesson or two from the team here. i stayed here on business for one night after a long day worked we decided to go to the bar to unwind, a member of staff called Danielle made us feel especially welcome and had a great sence of humour she's definitely an asset and a very warming character

Large room with DJ provided. Meals were served fast and were nice and hot ..bar in the function room saved going to the main one. We had our wedding at Bowburn Hall last month and we could not have asked for a more special day, from the day we booked it the staff have been fabulous to us and couldn’t have been more helpful. The venue on the day was perfect and the food was superb, many thanks to Charlie and his team in particular the wonderful Lucy who we are so proud to say was our master of ceremonies. Lovely venue, very clean, drinks were a bit pricey at the function I was at but hotels are usually pricey, overheard one lady say she was charged just over £6 for a glass of wine then went to later get another of the same and was charged over £7, seems questionable to me.

We stayed for a wedding and loved the vibe of the place and all the staff were lovely, polite and professional. Despite it being just another wedding to them but they really did go the extra mile. |The room was No20 which was on the second floor without a lift so be aware. It was very lovely decorated and the bathroom was nice and big. The only problem was the water pressure. The shower was very weak which we did report back to the assistant manager and she said she would "look into it" which I really hope they will. A water pump will solve the issues! More...

Staff warm friendly and helpful rooms are lovely and the food is prepared with passion and pride. The location is backing on to a housing estate but there isn’t any noise issues ideally situated for many of County Durham’s points of interest

Absolutely beautiful place. my husband and I went for our anniversary and were blown away. the food was delicious. We had breakfast and evening dinner. Drinks were faoelt priced. The atmosphere of the whole place was so welcoming. it was like home away from home. We stayed in a suite which was breath taking, but the other rooms looked amazing too. aswell as the new wooden cottages that are there. would highly recommend and stay again. More...

We had a lovely stay at the Bowburn. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was slightly dated but was comfortable and clean, with plenty of facilities. We were woken up one night by the night porter moving tables in the function room but this issue was sorted by the lovely Receptionist once they were informed. Room 30 with copper bath for a special occasion. Also had meal in the restaurant very good food and well priced. Room was lovely but noise from corridor, squeaky floor & slamming of corridor door outside of room. Poor water pressure.
