My case was dealt with very quickly, professionally, and in a friendly way. It was just 2 weeks from me initially contacting them until I had my full offer in hand from the lender. Asked for a callback via their website. Gerard got in touch the next day and we talked through my requirements ahead of a longer consultation the next day. In advance of advising me on the best mortgage to go for, he checked with lenders to make sure they were happy with my situation (ex local authority flat etc) to give the best chance of a successful application. Within a coupe of days I had my agreement-in-principle in hand, and my full application was sent in. The lender had a couple of queries about my situation along the way, which Gerard quickly raised with me and we dealt with them. I am a first time buyer buying a new build property on my own using the Help to Buy Scheme. I have 2 sources of employment income and in one of them, I am on maternity leave. I have had adverse credit (payment arrangement) in the past as well so my situation is quite complex.Josh Lillie has gone out of its way and agreed to assist me free of charge even though my situation is not as straight forward. Other financial advisors wanted to charge me ridiculous amount or said no but Josh persevered and I am really grateful for this. Josh found me the best rate on the whole market. It is of no secret that since the global financial crisis of 2007, mortgage brokers have been branded as parasites by many consumers who were mis-sold products. During the financial crisis, mortgage brokers capitalised on consumer’s asymmetric information and betrayed their trust. According to our independent research, a high percentage of consumers prefer not to use mortgage broker services. They assume that the broker will act in their own self-interest, resulting in a sub-optimal product selection for the client. It is our role as a company to quash this perception of mortgage brokers in the United Kingdom.
