Revisiting guitar playing after a long break, Ian showed me how to move from my ‘strum along and sing’ comfort zone into a whole new world of playing. Starting off with simple barre chords and moving on to allowing me to start to play around the whole neck. Ian’s patient manner and skill in identifying areas of my play needing attention have helped me to move to far more advanced playing than I could have hoped for after so few lessons. Although still a beginner I can recommend Ian’s lessons to players at all levels. He certainly helped me move from what I knew to a far more dynamic and rewarding style of practice and play. What do you love most about your job?
The thing I most enjoy about teaching is helping people gain confidence in their ability to play guitar over time, and watching them grow.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After getting lessons on guitar myself in school, and then going on to be a professional musician, I feel that it is important for me to pass down the torch to others that have an interest in playing. That's what inspires me to teach every day.
