Despite the cold and wet weather we enjoyed a pleasant wedding anniversary at Port Talbot. The breakfast here were really good and the mushrooms in particular were wonderful. The only improvements they could make would be thermostatically controlled showers and an effective secondary front door to cut the wind. I staid here with a group of friends for a crafting weekend. Me my partner and our 5 YO boy stayed her in the 16th November. |From the outside when you’re pulling up you’re thinking to you’re self OMG what have we booked here! !!|You’re be pleasantly surprised once you actually go on. It’s clean, friendly staff nice comfy big chairs around the bar. Has a pool etc for the kids to use as well as a bonus. Room was spacious very clean. We had a double and a single for the boy. Bathroom was clean as well. We never stayed for breakfast so can’t tell you about that.bar price wasn’t to bad either. We paid £51 for the night as close to the motorway. Yes, could do with a face lift, however their prices reflex this, and we had a great stay for very little money. We took Dante our Black Labrador dog with us and he seem to like his stay as well. Free Parking, 10 minutes’ drive to Swansea and a very nice beach in front of the Hotel. More...

Good location opposite the beach with friendly and welcoming staff and members. Pool is small and cold but sauna and spa are super warm so they balance out. I cannot praise this venue and staff enough. We held our first ever fundraising ball and they assisted our every need and put up with my persistent nagging. Everything was done to the highest of standards. Food was delicious and the night went perfect. Some of our guest also used the hotel facilities who was more than pleased so a big thankyou for helping us and even donating a prize for our raffle can't wait to use your services again. So lovely to have an enjoyable, relaxing long weekend with such welcoming staff, good food, and comfortable room - with our dog! ||We arrived late, after an awful journey, but the reception made us welcome and opened the bar! I was part of a coach party consisting of friends. My room was clean and pleasant with a side view to part of the beach. A typical hospitality tray was present. The public areas were pleasant enough. The buffet breakfasts both hot and cold satisfied my needs. The dinners were OK, but not exciting with rather tasteless vegetables (probably overcooked).||||The hotel had a leisure pool but I did not use it; I did not explore whether or not the pool had other facilities.||||Bearing in mind the price I paid for the holiday, the hotel offered good value. Positives: Beach front location, indoor swimming pool, good breakfast selection - all for 3 Stars rated hotel!Negatives (only minor): No air conditioning in rooms so hot summers may be uncomfortable at night. No in room safe. Finally, external decor of the building is almost nonexistent - at least dress up the front entrance, even with signage - the exterior is very misleading as the interior is better than many 4 Stars rated properties I’ve experienced. We only live 30 minutes away and always look forward to staying at the Best Western Aberavon.||We stay a coulpe of times a year. ||The hotel my not look so appealing from the outside but i can assure you that you'll be in for a surprise when entering the hotel. Wonderful staff always on hand. We recently stayed for the August bank holiday weekend and whilst having a drink in the holels garden watching the world go by there were 2 ladies walking on the outside of the hotel and took a peak into the garden where we were, they done a u-turn and a few minuets later were sitting opposite us having afrenoon tea.|| More...

Visited today for afternoon tea, the building on the outside doesn't look very good but once you step inside it's lovely, maybe brighten the outside up to make it more appealing, the afternoon tea was very nice small finger sandwiches, egg, tuna and ham, 6 cake choices, all very big slices, all very nice but would of prefered more savoury. Place was clean enough and had a good amount of coffee, tea and busicuits. The besds however we found were a bit too soft and so struggled to sleep, though this is down to personal preference. Overall, a good experience.
