About

My Name is Emma and I am based in Belper Derbyshire. I am an Integrative Counsellor which offers an approach that focuses on your needs throughout, adapting the therapy to your individual requirements and presenting problems at that time. At the start of your journey, a more Person-Centred Approach may be needed.

Q&As

Our overall physical and emotional wellbeing are influenced by many factors, including our diet and lifestyle. Within my practice, I utilise naturopathic techniques to help individuals look at how their diet, current medication, and lifestyle is impacting their lives right now. Looking at and implementing natural changes to diet and lifestyle can profoundly and positively impact the way in which my clients can improve their emotional and physical health. Each hourly session involves integrating dietary advice, support, planning, and assessment.

I have a passion for counselling and helping others achieve empowerment, growth, and well-being. I love the journey that i take with each client, helping them to nurture and grow as well as seeing them overcome hurdles they thought they never could.

Belper Counselling and Wellbeing was created to enable those seeking support could access a compassionate and professional service knowing their best interests are at heart. I offer services that enable all-around support from counselling and mindfulness to naturopathic dietary support.
Working in private practice enables me to reach as many people as I can, including offering home visits, Skype, and telephone sessions. For me, our emotional and physical health is so important and support should be accessible to all.

I have, in my own journey known the powerful value of counselling. This creates such a drive for my passion to support others. I volunteer for a number of organisations working with domestic violence, sexual abuse, trauma, and bereavement. I integrate many modes of counselling to ensure my clients are receiving the most appropriate type of support and therapeutic tools for them.

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) - A type of CBT that focuses on self- compassion for those suffering from high self-critical thoughts and shame. Using tools such as compassionate mind training.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) - Designed to help those who experience persistent bouts of depression, it helps people to live and experience things with a more present mind. Mindfulness is a powerful tool in helping those with Stress, depression and PTSD.

Bereavement counselling helps you to be able to access support in your time of grief. It can help both in recent or historic losses by facilitating emotional, cognitive and behavioural aspects of grief that are impacting your life.
