I brang in my two dogs for Adrian to groom. One of the dogs who’s just turned 1 never had a grooming because he is very nervous around new people always barks etc . However Adrian was very professional and made me feel at ease and this made me feel really relieved. The dogs looked so amazing after their groom and smelled so nice . And to my surprise they was so happy when coming out of Adrians work place. The prices was also really reasonable. I’ve told all my friends who have dogs they will be booking soon also. Been taking our nervous English bulldog rescue here since we adopted him - the grooming and kind breed-specific care tips that Adrian gave us since day 1 has turned our boy around from never being groomed and in a pretty poor condition, to the glossy, healthy good boy he is now! Our nervous dog is calm here and loves his grooms with Adrian, he gets a sanitary trim and wash and nail clip, and all those pesky loose shedding hairs are no longer on my furniture as they really sort out the deshedding mess here! My family and I were recently on holiday to London for a few days. We brought my little wired-hair daschund, Cooper. Whilst we were on a walk, Cooper managed to get some chewing gum stuck in his coat. After trying to get it out as best we could, it refused to budge. We were able to make an appointment to see Adrian of Beavertown Hounds who saw us straight away. Cooper was greeted with a great attitude and the service was very professional. Adrian was a very friendly chap and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to have their dog groomed. 10/10!! More...

My experience with Adrian was horrible. He refused to groom my cockapoo for having matted hair - which is what we go for groomers for. After having had to wait for weeks he refused on the day telling to go find another groomer. This showed how unreliable and unprofessional he is on top of the unfriendliness throughout our conversation. Having booked Adrian for the first time, he met us at the door with a prompt “ok, how do you want him done?”. Not welcoming at all. He noticed some mating but told me to come back in 1.5h, which already seemed too quick for a good job on a cockapoo. As I arrived home he called me saying he would have to be shaved and soon after as I was trying to understand how that would be he abruptly stopped the conversation with “You know what, I don’t want to do this anymore. Please find another groomer.” And ended the call. After that I asked to proceed with the shaving and he refused, asking to come pick the dog. As I picked up the dog, he was again unfriendly just handing him over without apologies. Instead when I mentioned writing a review he bluntly answered “Yeah, I’ll reply to that”. Thus I’m quite surprised with these reviews because they’re all the opposite of my experience. He left me empty handed with a mated dog, knowing very well how hard it is to find another groomer in such a short notice. I got home and groomed him by myself with time and patience - which a professional groomer couldn’t do. He gave the impression of rushing through jobs without care and consideration, just looking for easy jobs and money. Funnily enough as I walked out I met another cockapoo who had just been at Adrian’s and had been shaved off with light mating. I do not recommend Adrian and his behaviour was the exact opposite of what I expected from a local community groomer. More...

Having swapped groomers from a more commercial company to Adrian, I wouldn't go back. I have a rescue dog and am very mindful about where she goes as she can still be nervous, expecially with men, but by her second time she was happily trotting in. We took our 8.5 month border terrier to get her first groom and pamper by Adrian who was so kind, approachable and professional. He listened to what we were after (a hand strip tidy up but maintain the scruffy face look borders are known for) and that’s what we got. Very reasonably priced to for the exceptional service. Adrian is an absolute gem in the world of groomers! We cannot recommend him more. He has been taking such good care of our maltipoo boy Simba and trust him completely. He took detailed instructions the first time he groomed simba and has been executing them to near perfection ever since - but was still always happy to take feedback. He always showed flexibility and even picked up and dropped Simba off when we were busy with our newborn. He’s also competitive price wise so one cannot find better value for money! I can’t recommend Beavertown Hounds highly enough. Adrian was absolutely brilliant with my anxious dog who isn’t too keen on men - so much so that when I went to collect him he seemed quite keen to stay with Adrian! And Percy (my long haired chihuahua) is looking very smart, complete with a new neckerchief courtesy of Beavertown Hounds. He walked home with a definite swagger 🤣. I had been on the look out for a local groomer that offered a more personable service. I have recently adopted a rescue Frenchie who is terrified of absolutely everything and had never been groomed prior to coming to me. Adrian was absolutely brilliant fitting us in for a quick nail trim at short notice and being super understanding when I had to reschedule the main grooming appointment a couple of weeks later.
