I found Fenella to be a fantastic Dog trainer, my dog picked up on pretty much everything from the get go, I was so impressed with her knowledge and professionalism and was so over the moon with the outcome! We got in touch with be more dog to help our dog Charlie (8) who increasingly got frightened of loud bangs and firework and wouldnt go out at night. We had a great first consultation with immediate tips to get to work. Fenella is very enthusiastic and explains the tasks on hand clearly. By going back to clicker training and positive reinforcement Charlie gained confidence and got more focused on us as her leader. This made her get out of the house within two weeks. she loved to hear about our progress. And we’ve had a lot of progress. Places that Charlie would shy away from and get stressed about are now behind us and she comes with us to the pub at night which was also a problem. ,This is ALL thanks to Fenella that we have a happy confident trusting dog within 6 months time. Can't recommend Nells highly enough. She just 'gets' dogs, in the way most of us don't. She knows what makes them tick, what makes them agitated and what makes them calm, happy and content. She is also completely brilliant at helping her clients address any problem behaviour - which invariably starts with us, rather than our dogs.

I was very happy with Be More Dog,Fenella exceeded our expectations with Charlie. It was amazing to see what we can achieve with help and guidance and knowing that Fenella is available to speak to either by phone or email is an added bonus. I believe we now have the tools to help enrich our lives with Charlie although it’s no overnight fix and requires us to put the work in. What impressed us as well is when we asked about a follow up visit,Fenella did not push herself and said that it was up to us and to give it at lest 4-6 weeks. We have a Shih Tzu who has recently developed antisocial tendencies with signs of aggression to strangers and other dogs. Fenella paid us a visit, and taught us how to rectify this, and generally help us in understanding how to ensure we have a healthy relationship with our pup . It's early days but we can already see an improvement and will continue to follow her advice going forward. Fenella came to visit me and my Flatcoated Retriever Milly as she is neurotically obsessed with tennis balls, sticks and gravel to the point that she is constantly in a state of nervous tension.
I was worried about how much Milly could be helped as she is 7 and thought that perhaps it was too late to change any behaviour.
How wrong I was! Fenella showed me how to calmly but assertively alter her behaviour by carrying our several exercises which I then had to do too and I was amazed by the immediate response to Fenella and the changes in Milly.
The session was made relaxed and fun by Fenella but always with a sense of focus.
She also followed up the session with some very helpful and comprehensive e-mailed notes as to what my family and I need to do which were full of fantastic tips and not too dictatorial!

Fenella helped enormously with our neurotic and tricky Jack Russell. She examined Roxy's problematic behaviour patterns and efficiently and with good humour showed me ways to change them. With a few simple tricks and games, together with a firm and calm manner, my dog's annoying idiosyncrasies changed before my eyes! This is a difficult and intelligent dog but Fenella understood intuitively what was needed to make changes for the better, even during the session, and showed us how we must change our own behaviour. It was fascinating to hear her explain dogs' behaviours and needs. From intense stress around cooking and fear of smoke alarm going off, to door etiquette and general 'top dog' syndrome within the family, Fenella had a straightforward and practical method to deal with each behaviour. We have a much happier and more polite dog as a result and are very grateful! I have a bichon frise who would bark and howl if I left her on her own for even a minute. The very next day after Fenella came, my dog obviously sensed a change in my attitude because I stopped giving into her demands and took on the leadership role, and she was happy to stay in her crate for 15 minutes when I left the room, without making a sound. Since then we have upped the time to an hour, and she is fine with that too. I am continuing to work on her. All the advise Fenella gave me is working, so I can definitely recommend her. Fenella has helped me so much over the last month. My dog Danny had serious aggression problems towards other dogs. I have noticed a marked improvement already , and he is really responding to my commands, and choosing to look at me instead of other dogs. I can now tell which dogs he is going to go for by reading his body language, and i can divert a fight. I called fenella after a recommendation and so glad we did... after a few short hours and some great suggestions we are much better equipped to deal with our reactive girl. She has gone from fearing the outside to enjoying meals on the lawn and she was barely fazed by the sound of a car backfiring. Our 7 year old dog Charlie (f) developed a fear of fireworks, thunderstorms and then any random loud bangs. The result was that she refused to go outside in the evening. Within the first session we had with Fenella we learnt to improve our body language to make Charlie follow our commands, and use distraction to give her no time for fear, and make every experience positive. And we learnt how to build up her confidence. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Fenella. She is a joy to have on board, and an upbeat lady with practical solutions which suited us well. My dog was an absolute handful before Fenella did her magic. She quickly understood the temperament of Purdey as well as the anxieties of the owner . She was completely non judgemental about the relationship I have with Purdey, and helped me not to over parent.
