Absolutely fantastic!! My dog is a numpty and very dependant on me and cries if he’s not with me but because of the loving five star home from home care he didn’t miss me at all I think his holiday was better than mine!

When our new pup arrived last year we looked for dog sitting and found Barking Mad. One year later Opie has just enjoyed his first holiday via Barking Mad. Their service is top shelf stuff. Home visit to gather info. Dog placed with foster parents that suit the dogs needs. A bio of people and place that will be looking after your dog. We also got daily photo updates which are very reassuring. Collection and delivery of dog and all his shackles. Joanne from Barking mad took care of everything. We cant falt her or the service. I would like to say a massive thank you to barking mad & the hosts for taking the most amazing care of my Tilly. For me it was the 1st time I had ever left my baby. ... I was really worried taking the plunge, Hayley came to the house to see Tilly before hand, she really took the time to write down everything I wanted for Tilly, this really put me at ease. My Tilly was matched up with totally the perfect family, I was given photos on her return and it just looked totally like she was at home doing all the same things just with different people. I also received a postcard telling me all about her adventures it literally made me cry she had clearly had the perfect doggy holiday. I highly recommend barking mad.... I genuinely feel like barking mad is now Tilly’s 2nd family...... I will definitely use the service again without any doubt..... thanks too all involved in Tilly’s care xx More...

I have been with Barking Mad for over a year. Helen and Jess are both fantastic, they are very knowledgable and their top priority at all times is the welfare of the dogs they host. You can be rest assured of a professional service at all times and that your dog is being extremely well looked after. Barking mad are brilliant! I am a dog owner that feels like I have a child, and Melissa did an excellent job of making me feel at complete ease about leaving my adorable pooch, who often suffers from separation anxiety! Melissa spends a lot of time getting to know both dog and owner in order to make the perfect match to a host, and that's exactly what she did. It's a lovely added touch to receive a photo and a message to know that they are settled too. The host profiles really help to make the owner feel as though they know who their pooch is going too. Carrie is also very lovely, and was very patient when we were running behind the scheduled pick up time. Our pooch returned a very happy one! Barking Mad are also excellent at making sure their hosts are suitable. My nan was a host for them and loved every minute of it. Melissa was always on hand if needed, but my nan was given all the necessary information in order to treat each and every dog like the prince/princess you want them to be treated as. I would thoroughly recommend both using Barking Mad, and working with them if you love the company of a dog but don't have your own. More...

Our dog ‘Meg’ has been looked after by Barking Mad for several years now, her prime carer is Joyce who Meg loves very much. As soon as Ian turns up to collect Meg she cannot wait to get out the door as she knows she’s going ‘home’ to Joyce. This gives us enormous peace of mind just knowing how happy they both are together. On her recent short stay Meg was picked up by Ian and brought to the wedding venue of my son, of course she played to the crowd, thoroughly enjoyed all the photographs being taken of her and Ian looked after her so well. When we registered and we met Melissa ,we knew we could have complete confidence in her selection of host family. She is such a genuinely caring,lovely person with the dogs needs coming first. Our dog had her first Barking Mad holiday last weekend. Carrie collected her, who was also just as lovely, she sent us a message ,with photos,just after our dog arrived with the family. They made us laugh at how much fun she was having already. Our dog came back so relaxed and happy from her holiday. She tried to follow Carrie out of the door ! We’ve been using Barking Mad Durham since our golden retriever was just a pup. He’s so happy with his ‘doggy holidays’. Joanne went above and beyond to help out when my son was in hospital even with very last minute notice, was a huge worry off my mind knowing my dog was in good hands. Definitely can recommend!

We have used helen's service several times and have always had an amazing experience. This last time our dog became ill while we were away, though no fault of the host, and they were all absolutely amazing. Was able to enjoy our holiday knowing that Dewi was well looked after in a home to home environment. Huge thanks to Karen and host Denise Karen took a full history of Dewi, and I was reassured that he would be matched with a host who could meet his needs. .. and Barking Mad and Karen delivered on this. Dewi, our peke, has health needs and requires eye drops four times a day. This wasn’t an issue at all, and his treatment continued whilst he was with Denise. Barney and Flossie just returned from another lovely holiday with Barking Mad hosts, Carole and Fred. We were a little concerned about Barney as he was waiting for an operation on a cruciate ligament and therefore on medication and restricted exercise. But there was no need. Carrie made sure she was fully updated on Barneys needs and the hosts were very attentive to those needs. Our other dog, Flossie was walked separately. We were and are, so grateful that the hosts took the extra time and effort to do this. Barney and Flossie came back happy and relaxed. For us, having total confidence in the high standard of dog boarding provided by Carrie and her hosts, means such a lot. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent service. More...

It’s a real home from home. While we humans are off exploring new sights it’s comforting to know your dog is also getting a similar experience with their host. New walks , plenty of cuddles company and maybe few more treats!! I think the only downside is your dog loves it that much they don’t want to come home like we all feel after having a break away from routine. The hosts are fully checked and matched with the dogs. Every attention is given to ensure your dog is the priority . You get a message and a picture from your dog!! it’s good to know that they are well looked after and attended to on a one to one basis rather than be in a kennel and being one of many that need attention . Melissa and her wonderful Barking Mad Dog Care business are fab. I trust Melissa implicitly with my little dog’s holidays and am confident in knowing he’ll be with the right host family for him. I also host dogs on their holidays which Monty and I love. He loves having other dogs to visit and Melissa ensures we are matched with the right dog for us. This means we all have a great time and actively look forward to our host dogs visits. We know Melissa is on hand if there is any issue and that takes all the worry away so I can relax and give our four legged visitor a special holiday full of fun and walks and trips and love. After looking round kennels and speaking to boarding houses we were struggling to find somewhere for our puppy Australian Shepherd to go while we went on a short trip.
