How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Minimum head height must be 2.2 meters & most houses come with an allowance for permitted development hence requiring no planning permission. If roof space does not meet required head height, then permission will most likely be required depending on the area and council requirements.

Brief Overview:
(1) Do an initial assessment of your existing loft space
(2) Think about how you want to use the space
(3) Consider the planning, party wall and building regulation requirements of your conversion
(4) Get a contract in place for the works with your contractor/builder/loft conversion company and architect so you know who is responsible for what
(5) Once you are ready to commence works, be sure to inform your insurer that you are undertaking building works to ensure your cover is not affected

From experience, the client needs come first. Too many companies/builders taking shortcuts which in the long run is not the right way to do a job. My inspiration comes from my family circle whom have always been business orientated.
