My daughter benefited tremendously from the Arlen face-to-face small group sessions when she joined in the autumn. The tutors were certainly specialist professionals. Sadly, with the cancellation of the summer examinations, my daughter did not have the opportunity to show her progress but Arlen continued to support with remote learning regarding pre-A-level preparation and possible GCSE 'resit' opportunities in the autumn. 'Hard' copy resources were sent promptly in the post in readiness for online sessions. My daughter had been having gcse maths tuition with Arlen up until the Covid -19 shutdowns . Arlen acted swiftly and without fuss and were able to move the sessions on-line . We were concerned how the group would work and my daughter was nervous before the first session , but we are thrilled with the progress so far . I missed nearly a year of school near to my GCSEs due to a surgery, I was extremely behind on work and revision. I joined Arlen to try and catch upon what I missed, I was so grateful for the brilliant results which were due to taking part in their revision courses. I was being taught most of the work for the first time but this wasn't a problem, the teachers were very helpful covering what you specifically needed even in a group setting. I also made some good friends during my time there, it is a comfortable and friendly environment which produces fab results. My daughter has been attending Arlen since Easter for her GCSEs and I only wish we had found them sooner. She loves the sessions and seems to thrive on the small groups and the more detailed support she gets from her tutors, who have an informal and relaxed approach that puts her at ease and increases her confidence.
I only wish Arlen could support her for all her GCSE subjects!
I'm sure her results will improve as a result of the sessions and look forward to August to see!

What do you love most about your job?
Kieron is a graduate from the University of Cambridge and prior to this he attended Repton School in rural Derbyshire where he gained straight As at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, Latin and Ancient Greek. Following graduation, he worked as an analyst in an investment bank for a number of years before taking up a teaching role at one of the UK's top independent schools, Wellington College.
He is a very experienced tutor having worked with a range of students from 13+ (his tutees have been awarded King's Scholarships to Eton, places at Harrow, St Pauls, Cheltenham Ladies and Benenden), to GCSE and A-Level. He has also tutored successful Oxbridge applicants. He passionately believes that enjoyment is a major component of academic progress and always makes this a key component of tutoring sessions.

Private Tuition
Arlen Education is proud of the exceptional quality of private tuition we offer to our clients. Our highly experienced group of tutors are able to cover all subjects across the Humanities and Sciences. We focus on creating an active learning environment for our students, whether they are working towards entrance / national examinations, or would benefit from one-to-one help in a tricky subject.
All of our tutors are not only experts in their subject field but in bringing out the best in their tutees. Our methodology focuses on providing a positive, constructive and enjoyable learning environment for every student. We take a bottom up approach to each subject to ensure that the basics are mastered before moving onto more complex material.
13+ / Common Entrance / Scholarship
We have extensive experience in tutoring younger students who are preparing to take their CE or Scholarship Exams to independent schools in the UK. Our students have gone on to win places at all their chosen schools including Eton, Harrow, St Paul's, Benenden, Cheltenham Ladies and Oundle.
GCSEs
Arlen Education is an expert provider of academic and revision support to students undertaking their GCSEs. Given the number of subjects studied, this can be a very pressured and stressful time for pupils, but Arlen provides a well structured and clear revision schedule, taught directly to the GCSE specification to maximise our pupils' results in the exams. Many of our tutors are examiners for the GCSE qualification, current or former teachers who are able to provide a clear insight into what the examiners require.
Our firm also produces comprehensive course and revision notes in a clear, concise and readily digestible format, these are either provided to our tutees free of charge or alternatively are available for purchase direct.
A-Level / University Entrance
We pride ourselves on supporting students as they complete secondary education in preparation for university. We offer bespoke tuition and revision support to provide as much assistance as required to our pupils in what is a very stressful time. We also offer UCAS application advice, personal statement reviews and Oxbridge interview practise.
