Apollo Architectural Services produced the architectural plans for our two-storey extension, transforming our house from a starter to a family home. Chris' expertise was invaluable, creating a design that was sympathetic to the style of our property whilst also injecting new ideas into our thought process. Chris offered the design guidance and direction to help make the most of the space available. Chris is the consummate professional. His attention to detail is first class and his approach thorough. He says what he is going to do and delivers. It is hard to source honest, hardworking professionals and I am pleased to say that Chris is a person I have been able to trust. Chris Harris has been imaginative and helpful in our fairly modest project to extend a small semi-detached house. Whilst he has been open to our suggestions he has come up with fresh and useful ideas. He has produced excellent drawings quickly and assisted us with the submission of our planning application, permission for which has now been given. As we may amend and resubmit our planning application, it is not yet possible to give either a start date nor an estimate of the final costs of the project.. More...

I was sceptical about needing an architect, thinking a builder could design an extension to my single storey bungalow. Although after speaking with a friend who had just had an extension built to his house, I decided to use Chris Harris of Apollo Architectural Services. Chris was very easy to talk to and the more my partner and I discussed our ideas, the more I realised I liked his suggestions.

As well as design ideas, Chris guided us through Planning meetings, explained the need for Construction Engineer and helped us choose the right builder. He came with us when we viewed examples of several builder’s projects, in various stages of completion, pointing out the benefits and defects of what we were shown, as well as speaking to some of the customers. This was an extremely positive effort, as we learnt how to check a builders financial status, so that he would have sufficient funds to pay for some materials and work, without the need to ask me for “money up front”!

Another of the benefits of employing Apollo Architectural Services, Chris explained the necessity of asking every builders quote to include all of the work expected of the builder, without asking him to do extra work once the build has started. Although it took me several days and drafts to come up with a final list of jobs, I am convinced I have saved several thousand pounds by not asking the builder to do extra work. As Chris pointed out to me, once the builder is working for you, he has your complete confidence so can charge all extra work at a higher rate! It is better to get all the work to be done, at builder’s best rate, before work begins!

Although my extension is not yet complete, I feel Apollo Services has given me great value for money and could have cost us more financially, without Chris’s input.

We have appointed Chris to be our architect for our house extension/refurbishment.
Chris is very knowledgeable of the rules specific to our council. And this has been invaluable along with his attention to detail in us gaining planning approval.
We now move forward with him in the next steps of our project. More...
