Anthony is very professional, always punctual and has inspired my daughter to challenge herself to learn more difficult pieces of music. She has enjoyed working through her piano grades with Anthony and always looks forward to her next lesson. I would highly recommend Anthony his passion for music and teaching is second to none. Anthony has been professional from the start, meeting us to discuss what we wanted and listening to the children play and playing for us too. He is friendly and his enthusiasm rubs off on the kids who think he’s great. Each week he provides notes on their lesson and what they should be working on. During COVID he has been having weekly Zoom lessons with the kids and they are really enjoying this.
He is always punctual and would always give me plenty notice of any potential issues.
My children have gained music exams under his tutelage. Anthony phoned to speak to the kids after their exam to see how they got on which was really kind and appreciated by the kids.
I would definitely recommend Anthony and only wish we’d met him sooner!

Q&As

My biggest passion for piano teaching comes from people achieving their own specific needs from playing the piano. Some people want to pass grades, others want to be able to sit at a piano and just play something that sounds half decent. There's a moment where things just click, and start to fall in to place; where the logic and thought become secondary to the sound and music being produced by the instrument. And that feeling in that moment for both the student and myself is second to none. It's a real sense of achievement and accomplishment. My goal for piano teaching has also been to inspire students to reach their own tailored individual goals, whatever they my be.

My full time job is not in music. I'm a commercial pilot who used to train a handful of students in my spare time. Now that I have a small career break (due to Covid 19), I thought this is the best time to try and get more people to achieve what my existing piano students have done in my past few years of teaching.

Most of my previous students had only started off on a temporary basis but have decided to stay with me. Most of my students now come from word of mouth where existing students have said various things to friends etc. In my opinion, I have a really relaxed approach to piano teaching, with an underlying ethos that you as an individual will get out exactly what you put in. I can definitely steer things in a direction and try and get you to use your time optimally, but ultimately it's down to the individual to want to improve. Therefore, my job is also to navigate the specific drives for the individual and their relationship with the piano. Once this is identified I can focus on maintaining and giving passion to that specific drive for the individual.
