Being a documentary wedding photographer means I photograph weddings in unobtrusive and observational way. I slip into the background and most of the time, people aren't really aware of me.

One of the main reasons we booked Andy was due to his skills at capturing people in the moment rather than just posed shots and this really shone through in the final results. He spent the full day with us, from photographing the Bride getting ready, all the way through to last orders. He took hundreds of top quality, high definition photos throughout the day and put a fantastic collection together for us. What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing people enjoy themselves. Weddings are often a time for people who may live in different parts of the country (or world) to come back for a day or two and celebrate the biggest day of their lives. It's a huge privilege to be involved in that!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve always loved natural and candid photography. It's the way I always photographed my own family life and the way I photograph the world around me (i do a lot of street photography as well). These skills translate really well into wedding photography and the huge plus with weddings, is that you have a full range of emotions in one small day, and I love being able to capture that.
Why should our clients choose you?
I’m an experienced documentary wedding photographer who isn't going to take over your day spend lots of time making you do awkward poses.
I recently won a Bark certificate of excellence and have had some lovely reviews on Google and Facebook. I've also been told I'm a nice guy to have around on a wedding day. :)
Oh, and if it helps you decide (I don't think it will), when I was six years old I auditioned several times to be the 'Hovis boy.' I got to final audition...and...you'll have to email me, and I'll let you know if I made it! :)
