Q&As

Several factors such as consistency, colours, typography, imagery, simplicity and functionality all contribute to good website design although that’s not the whole story.

A well designed website, whether its purpose is to describe your expertise, build your reputation, generate leads or generate sales and subsequent aftercare, can help build trust and guide your visitors to take action, so most important is creating a great user experience.

This involves making sure your website design is optimised for usability through form and aesthetics as well as its functionality and ease of use. Effective website design should fulfill its purpose by conveying your message whilst simultaneously enabling your visitors to engage and interact.

Some people feel a bit overwhelmed when it comes to setting up their first online business but fear not - I am here to help and together we can build a beautiful functional website for your product or service - drop me a line to find out how!

What’s the objective or business goal of your project?

What background to your business and/or its sector can you give me and do you have any evidence or examples to support?

What’s the project deadline?

Are there any key milestones, important dates, or time constraints?

Have you been through a project like this before?

What are the deliverables?

Do you already have something in mind, visually?

What is your budget?

Do you have existing brand styles or marketing collateral?

What is the sign-off process?

Every job is different, but generally, in short, it goes like this.
I'll chat through your requirements with you, and if you don't have a full creative brief, I'll write based on our chat which you will need to sign-off. Once we are agreed on brief and deliverables I'll get on it, starting with whatever groundwork and research is necessary/budgeted-for, followed by sketches and roughs that lead to computerized designs for presentation. After feedback and discussion with you I'll move to sign-off and final files.

A guide brief and a budget. Happy to chat these through with you on the phone of course.

The desire to pick the kind of work I do and to work directly with my clients rather than through my employer's account managers.

I have over 20 successful years of designing for digital and print. I'm a safe pair of hands if you need one or can be more 'disruptive' if required....

I work entirely remotely from home as do my associates should their skills be required.

None. I work entirely from home and there is no need for us to ever meet in person until all the pandemic is over.

Services

I'll help you explore your organisation and help crystallise its ambition. Let's dig into your audiences and competitors to unlock your unique position and define your brand voice.

Consistent visual representation of your brand is a must. Every touchpoint is an opportunity to communicate what you stand for. From naming, logo design, supporting graphics and colour palettes to typography, photography, illustrations and the words that communicate an overall tone of voice, I can help you craft the components you'll need to stand out.

A distinctive logo, whether word mark, emblem, pictorial icon or any other form, is the most recognisable part of your brand identity. I'll help design a logo that works hard across all media, thats impactful even in the small formats dictated by social media.

From a Victorian tearoom to a bespoke jeweller, a private school to an online newspaper and sometimes working closely with internal teams, I have helped a number of businesses reach their online audience and realise their growth potential. Sites are usually built using Wix or EditorX and can updated by you or your staff if necessary. For some larger, more advanced builds I work with a third-party developer. Check out my photos to see examples.

Every piece of design is an opportunity to impress your audience. Whether its an information pack, a brochure, a magazine, social or print ads, a landing page, email template or a funky animation. I craft each design for maximum effectiveness to give you the edge.
