We engaged Tanya to help us completely refurbish and update the interior design of our Victorian house in Teddington. The scope included new heated floors downstairs, opening up of the existing downstairs space, new downstairs and upstairs bathrooms, new paint scheme throughout (including kitchen cabinets), new lighting throughout and new bedroom layout including built in wardrobes. Tanya made the whole process easy for us, bringing to us design ideas and using her experience to challenge us on design, layout and finishes. The real value for us was leading on the design and bringing samples to us as well as linking up with a top-class local builder that she works with regularly. This meant we didn't have to spend our weekends in tile and bathroom shops etc and we had confidence in the Builder form the start, with Tanya attending regular site visits to ensure the Build was in line with the design. We are delighted with our house, which turned a tired (and cold) Victorian terrace into what feels like a fully updated, cosey and warm new house. We would definitely recommend working with Tanya. What’s your interior design process?
Amok manage the complete design process right from concept design and planning.
We then prepare detailed design packages including detailed drawings and concept design, a specification and scope of works.
If a tender process is required we can organise this and also contract management.
Amok also specify furniture, fittings and soft furnishings and carry out client / contractor liaison right through the project.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
Amok design contemporary interiors, classical contemporary and also eclectic interiors combing modern pieces with traditional architectural details.
This really depends on the style of the property and working closely with teach client to understand their lifestyle and tastes.
What do you love most about your job?
Suggesting to clients new ways to utilise space and materials that can transform their project.
Stripping back a property to the bare bones and then seeing it take shape into a new exciting space.
