Could not have imagined a friendlier, more flexible and professional venue. They were extremely helpful, at relatively short notice, catered exactly to our needs and budget. This venue was absolutely amazing! The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. My party didn't start until the evening but they were super laid back about me going in early afternoon to decorate the room. I thought it was a lovely touch that you can have a slideshow up of your own pictures and that the disco lights were there if you needed them. Good place for watching sports. Out of the three bar staff I met, two of them were really friendly. Drinks aren't cheap, but there is a happy hour which runs until 7pm during the week where I think the drinks are 1/3rd cheaper. Really fun place to spend an evening out, I recently went to a surprise birthday party for a family member here and every staff member was very helpful, we even left some stuff there which they kept for us to pick up a few days later, reasonably priced drinks considering there location on whiteladies road! A must visit!

I booked the whole of Alterego for my wedding due to having a high volume of family and friends coming from many areas! Due to the venue being just out of the city centre we thought it would be very convenient and easy for people to find. Nigel that works there could not do enough for us and answered any questions I had straight away.

All the staff there were so friendly and helpful and the venue was perfect and absolutely everybody had an amazing night! Could not thank you enough guys! :) Will recommend you to anyone! I think my sister will be booking you next year for her 21st birthday! More...

This place is the best, be it for football, cocktails, parties or even catering for other events.
I have been meaning to post my best wishes to Nigel, Mike, John and the team (yes, even you Jimmy) for many years, now I have ! !
You can book a room, book a floor, book a floor and a room all for free, book catering, the list goes on and on, but everything this place does - it does well. You can even have your own till if you meet the targets.

First and foremost, thank you for your level of assistance and professionalism in making my birthday party amazing. I still have loads of people telling me the party was sooo fun. The cocktail bar gave the party a special element, that people weren't expecting.

As for Jimmy..... that man is awesome! He came a few hours earlier than booked and set up with a good amount of time. He was so helpful and friendly. What I loved about him was that, if ever there were things that we were missing, or things that were needed, he didn't add stress upon my already hectic load, but was creative and took initiative in making things work. He had an amazing attitude, and everybody that was served by him thought he was great. I would recommend Alterego and Jimmy to anyone looking to hire a portable bar. We hired in Nigel and his team for the wedding of our daughter and were very pleased with what they provided. They got in the beers we wanted turned up and set up the day before the event taking away the stress. The 2 bar staff on the day were excellent (sorry guys didn't get you names) they were helpful, friendly and worked their socks off all day- and then cleared the whole thing away leaving no trace they had been there! And the drinks prices were reasonable especially the cocktails. Good value all round- definitely get them back again when the wallet recovers from the rest of the wedding experience

Alterego is exactly how a sports bar should be, not all neon signs and cheesy American styling. It has a warm atmosphere yet has screens nearly everywhere you look. They show such a variety of games that if you team is playing then there is a good chance they are showing it. On a Saturday they will have many games on in an afternoon - when I last went they had four football games on, a rugby game and we also got Sky Sports News put on in another room.There's a good range of lagers but limited amount of ale which is a shame but only a small downside for many other pluses. There is a function room which is available for free and has its own separate bar and toilets. It's upstairs at the back so it feels nice and private. The place is a bit of a tardis and has lots of separate spaces so you can enjoy your friend's company without feeling part of one big group.On a Monday they do "toss the boss", flip a coin and if you win you only pay half price for your drink. It has certainly kept me in there longer than I planned in the past. They're also pretty flexible, I've been in with my kids when it's been quiet and we've had the top room to ourselves while watching the football - they even let us bring in our own food as they only offer crisps and nuts.
