I hired Andy to do a complete rewire of a 2 bedroom flat I rent out in Corstorphine. From the first email exchange through to the job completion, I was genuinely blown away with the service that I received from Andy. You would expect a rewire to be a messy job but Andy left the flat incredibly clean and tidy, I only require minor plastering work and some floorboards nailed down. He finished the job on time and on budget. I had an issue following the job completion where the fuseboard kept tripping, this was caused by my decorator damaging cables. Andy came straight away to fix the issue and was not even going to charge me. He explained everything to me in layman's terms and was happy to accommodate my requests.

I have since used Andy to add more sockets in my own house and again he did a fantastic job, he came when he said he would and I am very happy with the results.

Honest, reliable and reasonably priced tradesmen like Andy are rare these days. He has a lovely manner and is a family man which goes a long way with me. I would recommend Andy in a heartbeat and shall be using him for all future projects. More...

We were really pleased to have Andy on board for our flat renovation. We needed a full rewiring and he was brilliant from start to finish. Andy took the time to explain things as he went along so we knew exactly where we were. He took time to maintain the period features of our flat making very neat cuts for the new sockets and threading new wiring up very narrow conduits for the lights so we didn't need to redo original period coving etc. We needed extra work doing whilst on site and Andy handled this very well, accommodating our requirements and adjusting his schedules to suit. Outstanding. ALS Electrical completed 3 days of work for me recently, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend - it was a delight to find such a good tradesman. Andy was completely professional from quotation to completion, explaining and discussing options with me, answering queries, and ensuring I was happy with placement of kit etc throughout the job and ensuring the relevant certs were issued promptly. Andy and Derek were both hard workers and there was excellent attention to detail; all the wiring has been finished off extremely neatly (there was lots of visible cabling in the garage work). I was put in touch with AJS (Andrew Smith) through my son, who'd previously had work done. The antiquated consumer unit/fuseboard in my 1930's Bungalow required replacing. Andrew attended to survey (smart, clean and tidy) at the arranged time, gave an honest and straightforward appraisal of the required work; we agreed the modern RCD unit and he provided a written estimate to supply and instal. He returned at the agreed date/time and carried out the work in a highly efficient and professional manner, leaving the installation area clean and tidy. Included in the price was an earth bonding to the Gas meter. Andrew also took time to explain the features and operation of the new Unit. My job comprised of a number of little jobs, moving sockets here and there, replacing lights fittings etc and installing a heated towel rail in the bathroom. Nothing was too much trouble, turned up on time both when getting the quote and on the day of carrying out the work. Andy (AJS Electrical Solutions Ltd) did a fantastic job for us. The job was to rewire a 3 bedroom tenement flat where the current electrics were very old. Andy arrived on time to come and check the job out. He delivered the quote very quickly as promised. He was very open about the job e.g. what he could do and if it would be messy and such like. Andy was always good about giving us options e.g. light switches. Rewiring is a very messy job but we were very impressed with out tidy he left the flat after the work had be done. Because the job was quite a difficult one he had to return for one day later on to complete some aesthetical work. As promised he came on that day at the time arranged and completed the entire job. I have been using the same electrician for years but decided to switch after getting the kind of quote that leaves you thinking if they actually want the job. I got a few quotes for a rewire of a 2 bedroom flat and went with AJS Electrical due to the professional and caring attitude of Andy, his quote was one of the most competitive but even if it was slightly more - I knew I had someone trustworthy and easygoing to work with. Andy has been nothing short of amazing; he explained everything to me in laymans terms and provided a non obligation quote which broke everything down. The job Andy did was superb, I actually don't need to do much to the flat thankfully thanks to Andy's careful work. The rewire itself looks great, he used good branded sockets and the wiring is very neat and tidy. I had to get the work done to a tight deadline and it was ready way ahead of target.
