me and my daughters recently had a shoot for pictures to update their portfolio and website, my girls (aged 4 and almost 3 yr olds) were quite shy and reluctant to begin with but warmed up after a while, despite this Paul still managed to capture some very beautiful pictures of them. His studio is clean and comfortable, and he and Johanna really put my girls at ease (with a lot of face pulling and tickles and props). Having been a Photographer for a number of years I am often very sceptical of the way other photographers work, you never expect to see the results you like and can get extremely picky, however I shoot Wedding and personally am not interested in hitting other genre's However, I was made to eat my words with Paul and his wife who worked really well together. My Daughter was quite stubborn at first, she knows what she wants to do but they were exceptional at what they do, she soon came around and we had her giggling and laughing, dancing and being silly. She is only 15 months old - Testament to their expertise! They own a small but perfectly equipped studio which was ideal for their target audience and even though they only took our shots today I am extremely confident that we will be looking at some great images having seen previews on the day I can't recommend Afterwish enough having experienced their hospitality today and I have already been talking to people about them, this is a sure sign in my eyes that they did a fantastic job. Pricing is very competitive against the market average and to be honest I am confident I would use Afterwish again in the future as my daughter gets older and even more bossy! I came to AfterWish Photography in April and I had great fun! I took my two friends with me which was super fun because we all giggled together! What do you love most about your job?
What i love most about my job is the art of capturing a moment in time, immortalising a scene or revealing someones true beauty .
What inspired you to start your own business?
I discovered photography around ten years ago starting out with a pocket camera and a laptop.
I had been walking along a beach when i came across a piece of driftwood entangled in some colourful fishing net. I captured the image and was inspired by it's simple beauty. I became passionate in the art of capturing images and the process of transfer to print.Needless to say that i ran out of wall space some time ago!
I now undertake a large proportion of my work in a studio environment with better tools. However i still believe that photography is as much about passion as well as technology which is something that has remained with me from that first day on the beach.
