ADI Leak Detection

Vastly incompetent at finding our leak; terrible waste of time and money. No understanding from their customer relations / complaints handling. Despite visible water coming over the ground from our stopcock and despite availability on the day of someone to point to the stopcock, the technician was unable to locate the stopcock. It seems the technician did nothing to investigate the source of water running over the ground from our bush, when this was the actual leak we brought ADI in to sort out, and where he would have found the stopcock had he looked. Instead, the technician spent time looking elsewhere, away from the streaming leak, and then progressed to the house to test the internal pipes and photograph damp patches in the house. In the end we had to try again with someone else, and when the water supplier came they immediately located the leak under the bush and fixed the problem within a couple of hours. Two visits at £2000 and still unable to fix leak! Poor return for such a high outlay! Engineers worked hard but were ineffective. I had to find and fix the leak myself. My main issue is ADI’s customer service and dealing with customer complaints. Having first appeared to be responsive, they then chose to ignore my correspondence and refused to get in contact, despite several requests. Cannot recommend at all. I have had ADI Leak Detection come out to my property twice now. The first time they came to try and identify a leak, which the engineer so far has fixed. As I have an Air Source system I requested they put inhibitor back in my radiators once they completed the job, the engineer told me they don’t carry inhibitor so he couldn’t do this. When I spoke with someone in the office they informed me it was because inhibitor is too expensive so they wouldn’t use this until they could guarantee the leak is fixed. I found a blue bottle of what I thought was inhibitor in my garage, which i handed to the engineer and asked him to check if it was the correct stuff before putting through our system. He clearly didn’t check very hard as he was actually tipping engine oil (that my son-in-law had brought home from work) into the radiators, which I discovered as soon as I began bleeding the radiator. When I called ADI to explain what I thought had happened they sent the engineer back, when he arrived he lifted up the bottle and pointed to say he had read the instructions and just put it in. When I read the instructions to him it became apparent that they were for a Vauxhall Car, not radiators. I contacted ADI to inform them of the mistake and they arranged for another engineer to come and power flush the system, this was arranged for 2 days time, so I had 2 days without heating. On the day of the appointment they cancelled it so I had to wait another day before someone actually came out. The 2nd guy that came was incredibly helpful and thorough, funnily enough he carried inhibitor on his van and said this is something he always stocks! On completion of the powerflush I received a 2nd bill of around £700 which ADI assured me that my insurance should cover. I have now tried contacting my insurance to claim this back and they are refusing to pay this amount. I have emailed ADI to ask for a reduction in the bill so I only cover 0.5 the amount, as I do admit some responsibility. They have refused to take any blame with the situation, and have said I will not be receiving any refund. I honestly cannot understand how an experienced qualified engineer would not recognise the difference between inhibitor and waste engine oil, as I (a 49 year old woman) noticed it immediately! First day on site they told us they had found the leak and sent a report stating that fact. They then had to return the following day as they hadn't actually found the leak. They dug up the path to carry on investigations. Four days they were on site at a cost of £990 plus VAT per day -payable in advance. They left the site in an untidy and unsafe condition - this was outside a school. We had to send men there over a weekend to clear up their mess and make safe. Spent two hours looking for the leak. Couldn't find it. Messed up hot water system and left a leaking pressure tap. Charged my card £603 for finding nothing and causing me more problems than I had before they came. Waste of time and waste of a lot of money. More...

Disaster. They brought all the tools to find a leak, ripped two holes in my wooden floors which are unreparable, only to say that the issue was with my boiler and not their fault. Charged me the full amount (£900). When I asked for a refund of the fix, as they admitted it didn't fix the issue, they asked for documentation from my boiler manufacturer. When provided they just stopped responding to me.

We chose ADI Leak Detection following a failed attempt to find and repair a leak. Unfortunately we previously went with a company who found a leak but didnt repair it. We had to arrange for another plumber to repair the leaking pipe. Following another high water bill we realised there had been more than one leak. ADI Leak Detection were supberb. I initially spoke to Monique who was very reassuring and knowledgeable. She arranged the visit within two days. Matt was amazing, he did a full check of our pipework and located the leak in the water supply under cupboards in our utility room. This was difficult to get to but he managed to avoid any major damage and got to the source. He replaced the pipework, but moreso he ensured that we were not incurring any further water loss and was not satisfied until all was tested in full. I wholeheartedly recommend them, they are very skilled, have all the "kit", and moreso are very good to deal with. If we have any further leakages (hopefully not), they will be the first to call. We used ADI to fix a leak we had under our school swimming pool. Having had other quotes from other companies that were more expensive and also involved a lot more work, ADI detected the leaks and fixed with no excavation and in a short space of time. Matt arrived on time, found the leak quickly which was under a screed floor, and repaired the leak. A comprehensive report including photos was then emailed to me a couple of days later for me to send to my insurance company. I would certainly recommend them.

After 2 weeks or so trying to cope with a non functioning central heating system I finally had to look for a company to fix it. I found one and gave them a call. I must say the young lady in the office was so helpful, she was polite and extremely patient with me with all my questions. She kindly booked a day suitable for me and as promised the guys turned up on time. These young men were so informative as to what they were doing and going to do and I felt very comfortable with them in my home. I thought they were going to be ages but they found the leak ever so quick and repaired it. A few months after I brought my new home I received a hefty water bill. After speaking with the water board who bluntly explained the Situation I have had numerous “cowboy” leak detection companies out ,but the leak remained a mystery and I received several large bills. So after speaking with my son he said he had recently had similar issues and used a company called ADI Leak Detection. So I found a number and called them up and all I can say is WOW! The girls in the office had so much information to give over the phone and though emails, they broke down what would happen on the day of the appointment which was very helpful! The availability was very good and they were able to send two engineers the very next day! When vince and Matt arrived it was lovely to see them arrive in smart ,clean clothes and vans with a positive attitude to the job and plenty of reassurance. Over a cup of tea I explained what had happened previously and then they started immediately to find the pesky leak that had been driving me round the bend. 2 hours later the location of the leak had been found and the boys checked with me before carrying out a repair, I could have kissed them both!! I found ADI Leak Detection after searching online when I suspected i had a water leak on my central heating system at my property in central london. The company were very efficient on the telephone and reassuring that they would be able to solve my problem - true to their word the engineer arrived at 9am on the day of my appointment.
