I was doorstepped by a very convincing bloke in full corporate regalia, Who was doing some work for “The lawyer “across the road, and noticed my ridge tiles were in need of pointing. We agreed a fee of £200, and twenty minutes later he announced he was finished, but had noticed there was more work that needed doing, for a mere £650. My scam sense finally came in to play. I said I couldn’t afford it and the price soon dropped to £400. Then he tried to distract me with paperwork, He was always standing very close behind me, asking for a pen and followed me through to the other room. I ushered him into the kitchen, which is knocked through to the dining room, and gave me sight lines of all the entrances to the house. I was aware he had a lad with him, who was outside, and I wanted him to stay out there. I caught the lads eye and he retreated.

I counted £200 In twenties which he literally took from my hand. I had a twenty leftover, and to my amazement took that out of my hand saying it would buy him and the lad a drink. He left, then returned twice, to check I was ok, or in hope that I was no longer being vigilant.

He was pretty convincing, but as time went on his main focus was obviously getting as much money out of me as he could. I have enquired with the company, and it seems to be entirely populated by Irish guys with similar voices. All of them quickly answer the phones, one of them has tried to ring back six times, on a Saturday morning. The company is based in Dunstable, but if you ring the 0800 number, they claim to also have a Sheffield branch. I now have three mobile numbers, all of which get the same guy. The company is only five months old, and has the same bloke listed as sole proprietor.

Our roof leaked 3 days ago, not sure if we would find anyone during the current lockdown. We went to berk.com got in touch with them, sent over the pictures they came in on priority after looking at the pictures. Next working day fixed the roof and stopped the leak. Reasonably priced also. Top guys!

They came and cur down and removed a 45ft conifer from my garden. Competitively priced and excellent service. Turned up when the said they would took all the tree parts away to be chipped left the garden clean and tidy as if they’d never been there. Highly recommend them.

My experience with PR home improvements was second to none.
I had some light renovation work to do on one of my properties after a long let.
I needed the work done fairly quickly at short notice as i had new tenants moving in.
PR home improvements were recommended to me by an acquaintance whom i have known for quite some time.
PR home improvements came and gave a very fair price and were able to complete the work needed in within the short time i had.
The work they carried out was fantastic and they also did a few other minor things which was very nice of them. The team were friendly courteous and efficient and i will definitely be using their services again.
